[RENDEZ-VOUS? WITH THE MAD MATRYOSHKA]Sorry I've been only posting fan arts lately; it's a nice break away from the stressful contest entries. Fan arts for me is close to operating a fax machine compared to programming your own OS on a customized computer, that is original art. This was more of a doodle than anything else and I haven't done flat coloring piece since Bloody Sunflower.
Anyway this song has been playing in the BG for, in all seriousness, HOURS (iTunes count is 50 but i listened to it countless times on niconico already so I'd say WAY more). It's been a while since I found a vocaloid song I like this much but really; the lyrics, tempo, claps, catchiness... everything is there in one big awesome! I have older works that's colored in solid flat colors and personally I enjoy coloring in flats a biiiiiit more since I'm still practicing paint style. Glad you like it! I hope I get to work on these types of illustrations more.

talking about confusing songs I have no idea why Japanese music artist love contradicting tunes and lyrics... there's so much musics that has depressing lyrics yet it has SUCH an upbeat, catchy tunes you want to repeat over and over again.

hn... is diferent, and i love flat colors, some people think is "easy", using color 'here and here'. I really enjoy the contrast between flat colors and irregular lineart. My fav part are the heavy lines, it looks lovely with flar colors >w<.

Not just some; a lot of people think its easy and take less effort for flat colors. Personally I love flat black and I have to admit; it IS easier for me to do details and more pop, design images so I LOVE it. People seem to dig it too as "thats cool!" way more often than my soft paint shading since for that its either amazingly awesome, half assed, or suck hard core. But you need to have a REALLY unique style or else it's just laziness or that anime looking thing a LOT of the time so it's frustrating. Especially when you're trying to get a job or a commission. Also from what I've seen, it works better in other countries than the US where the art form has a narrower acceptance. Flat coloring is more like a product design and illustrations than "art" which I dont mind... but it still I had many instances (ESPECIALLY my AP art teacher) that made me feel like less of an artist with flats.
Then again it might be just me who cant make a master piece with flat colors by lack of skills and sense of design LOL!! Now I'm motivated to practice more since you like it too!

hahaha, as my art teacher used to say "if something (like a painting or whatever) make people 'feel something' like sadness, happyness, etc... then you can call it 'art', because the goal of the art is make people to feel"

Yea none of my art teacher was like that; most of them were "draw what people like; selling what makes you succeed" or along those lines. But thank you for the complement and that quote... it really does make me feel better and ehhhhhhhhhhh I'm not confident enough that my works are powerful enough to influence people's feeling yet so I'll definitely keep trying!
