"Owning or employing a Beholder is the dream of any dungeon master or ancient warlock. To have such a magical powerhouse at your side would be legendary, and those stupid adventurers and grave robbers would think twice about stepping in your domain. The main issue, though, is that Beholders are egotistical and prideful creatures, who would much rather play the role of "master" than "minion." If you were to even ask if they were for hire, you probably would wind up getting disintegrated on the spot. They don't do lowly work, and they don't ever play the role of lackey. If you want one on your side, you either need to bind it with some spell or ritual, or you could just make one! They are just floating heads with a bunch of eyeballs that shoot magic! How hard could it be?"

A old doodle I did a long time ago, now turned into an actual drawing. Funny enough, he was supposed to come out a bit more menacing, but that smile wound up being rather pleasant. It's like he is ready to ask how your day is going. How swell of you, False Beholder!
