I know, I've been there many times when I was young, but only recently have I been able to visit and actually understand the things that I was seeing over there. Super culture shock to me coupled with a really sad feeling at times. I enjoyed going there but still

The economic sitch here in the Philippines sucks, that's for sure. When my family and I first vacationed in the USA, we couldn't believe how modern it was down there. We were stunned at how far behind our county was in technology and development. The other countries in Southeast Asia are improving while the Philippines is sinking. And now we have a whacked political situation to add to our worries.

What's happening?

Oh, nothing much. Just a president who wants to sell out one-third of the country to a bunch of bloodthirsty a******* without telling the public just to get some cash. No biggie. When we,the Filipino people, heard about it, we raised an outcry that caused her to retract the contract. After that, hell broke loose in several areas in Southern Mindanao. Several towns were raided and bombed by the MILF rebels and 33 civilians were killed. I think my city is still on red alert.

Me too. It isn't enough that the government takes food from our peope's mouths. They just have to get them killed too.

This is something rather photojournalistic, or at least street photography. Good job capturing the moment!

thank you! i was thinking about putting it in the photojournalism section but that felt too "official" for something like this

Try street. It's close to photojournalism, yet is a bit looser. Street photography is supposed to be candid pictures of people out on, well the streets! I think you would make ^Obsidian-Fox very proud by concluding that this is a street photo :]

And something to go along with your signature.
