Description watercolors

I never start pictures thinking, "this is practice". The word practice doesn't have many positive connotations for me.

I'm not very pleased with this picture. It's gnarly and I'm glad it's done, but nothing I'd frame, or feel comfortable selling. In the end I did get a good amount of practice out o' this bitch though.

if he is a cephalopod shouldn't he have suckers? his tentacles seem really bare. I really like his head, the shading is quite good especially on the orange

Nice job on the tenticles, they got a sense of shade on them.

water colors are fun huh? Really quick medium

Try wet on wet technique..

Either make the whole paper wet and apply color, and see how different colors blend. Or do a wash, and white it is still wet try blending other colors into it.

Its really cool shit

^-^ a fun medium indeed.
This piece was actually my first real experiment with wet on wet. At least in some parts.

Thanks for the comment about the tentacles. I kept laying on layers of red and blue to create purples on the paper. Looks pretty neat.
