DH lawrence was a very influencial author of his day, and recieved alomst godlike idolation from women with, as Tenesse Williams puts in his play I RISE LIKE THE PHEONIX, "screwed up libidos". His last years were spent in a painful brooding, as the man who praised the body over the mind watched himself waste away from disease, leaving nothing left but his mind and his words.Related content

I like your piece. Stark. Lawrence is a fav of mine. In some ways, so progressive and prophetic. In other ways, not so much. Complex and intense, that was he.

Why, thank you very much. I watched Tennese William's 'I rise like the Phoneix about the last days of DH, and was so moved that I immediately began work on this peice.
