Been a bit of a hectic month, but there were some stuff out. At least I've got two weeks to take a breather.1) A WIP set of the doodles from a group dare/prompt. The first and last ones didn't take much to figure out, though the second and third seriously slowed things down because I had no idea how the hell two-person costumes work or how I wanted the costume to look like. Lol, who knew it took that long.
2) WIP of a contest entry , before all the garish lights and blind-stabs in the dark. I may do a GIF process of this, maybe
3) Cause their idea of 'date nights' or a 'night out on the town' often implies one gently nagging the other to help out with a job or something. It's that or crashing on the couch with several boxes of takeout.
4) Inspired by the yoga sessions I've been doing. These two are the most flexible OCs I've got (aside from Jade), and could be a case of Rena taking AJ with her for a group session or something.
5) One of the few 'throwback-ish' ideas I've got floating around. This one's of a younger Niko and Dante with the pseudo-drill sergeant they call their legal guardian (the former's god-father and the latter's uncle). If you ever wondered why Niko's got such a 'in-your'face' attitude or why Dante ever ended up in the military in the first place, look no further.

This is incredible!! I love seeing the 'behind the scenes' of your pictures, it just proves how talented you truly are! I love the shading and the planning you do for each piece and the way you keep challenging yourself to make pieces more original, the expressions more realistic and the poses more unusual and eye-catching and the detail more impact-creating. I look forward to seeing what you produce this autumn!

Naww, thank you~ I really appreciate your kind, kind words and your support. Though what WIPs that get here are arguably cleaner ones, the initial sketches cand layouts can get so messy that you can't tell what's what.
Lol, that's IF I manage to get anything done in the mean time, I've been trying to stay on top of work that these get put in the back burner.

I really like the last doodle - it's good to get to see some of the cast's backgrounds (you should do this sort of themes more often!

The other examples were worse! I saw one that basically expected you to hold a one armed handstand that looks like a still of an upside-down jumping-jack. I mean what? How is that relaxing?
I've been intending to do some backgrounds for a bit, just trying to figure out how to get around doing that. Lol, they've definitely got a fair bit of history (physical and psychological trauma ahoy) that I do want to get down. Lol, it's obvious that he's got mild authority issues from a young age. Though it's mostly harmless.

Grumpy old men, a sure fire way to force anyone to choose to either rebel or go into the military to escape it (already well prepared for people shouting in your face probably)

She's one of those weird ones who could look at those list of 'advanced yoga poses' and actually replicate them. I've actually looked some up and already felt sore just watching them. Though she's more unassuming, no one would actually know the extent of her flexibility, but not many have actually seen her. Rena on the other hand is more obvious, especially because she still spars with people.
They would absolutely agree with that title. Though it's that grumpy old man who did a lot in turning them into non-robotic equivalents of the terminator. It wasn't necessarily Niko having a rebellious attitude against him, she was more of an 'yeah ok' sort but became an argumentative and snarky shit with age. So they argue, a lot (but not as much as he would with Dante).
Nah, the military wasn't an escape route, one particular incident went one step too far and Dante got his stupid ass shipped over to fix his 'disregard for discipline' and attitude. It was luck that he found out he was good at it.

Well you've got to save some things as a surprise, otherwise people would know everything about you and expect you to be able to do everything! I'm sure Rena has some surprises no one knows about
Wow, parenting gone a tad askew I think, although some may believe it a good thing as in a way it found Dante his profession and taught Niko to not back down and just take it (there are times when arguing is a good thing, too many people don't, they would just rather avoid a fight and end up unhappy)

Yeah that's true, it's much more interesting to learn about people as you go rather than in one sitting. Lol, secrecy was her job description, there's bound to be stuff no one knows about.
Lol, he's one of those few who skipped out 'child raising 101'. Ironic considering he's got a family of his own before the divorce.

The stares of confusion and surprise are always satisfying, then you feel you suddenly ascended a new height in status
Yeah I don't think i've learned about anyone entirely in one sitting, though I have developed impressions, (they say you shouldn't) however usually the first impression, the gut impression, is the right one, you might end up saying "Oh I had them all wrong", then a while later they end up doing something to prove you were right initially and a chump for feeling bad about misjudging them! (but that's just bitter, judgemental me)
Well no one was made knowing how to be a good parent, and some are just plain awful
