Standing, still in shock on the life boat, I glared at Carl
"Carl! What on earth was all that?" I asked, condescendingly.
Carl shrugged, "I'm not sure what you're referring to" he offered, yet the boat was stilling sinking behind him.
"You sunk an entire cruise ship, Carl!" I cried out, horror and anger twisting my face
"Are you sure that was me?" he insisted, "I would think I would remember something like that". His eye brows furrowed, his lying tone angered me more.
"Carl I watched you fire a harpoon into the captains' face!" I screamed at him, still in shock from previous events.
A small smile danced on his mouth, though he hid it mostly, "That sounds dangerous" he replied.
"You were head butting children off the side of the ship" I said, narrowing my eyes. My tone sharp.
His eyebrows raised, as though he were impressed with himself. "That must have been horrifying to watch" Carl said.
Sighing frustratedly, I then said, "Then you started making out with the ice sculpture".
Smiling innocently, he said, "Well, thank God the children weren't on board to see it!"
I then noticed in horror that the bottom of the life boat had a red, gooey substance sliding around. "Uh, Carl? Why is the lifeboat all red and sticky?" I asked in anguish and horror.
Carl looked down and his eyebrows raised once more. "Well, I guess you could say it is red and sticky" he said, seemingly just acknowledging the substance in the boat.
Knowing this was his doing, I asked, "Carl, what're we standing in?!" I said, lifting my foot out of the liquid.
Carl looked up and shifted his mouth to the side. Thinking for a second, he then said "Would you believe it's strawberry milkshake?"
Huffing, I looked at him in anger. "No, I would not believe that.".
"Melted gumdrops?" Carl asked, tilting his head to the side slightly.
"No..." I said, narrowing my eyes slowly and frowning.
"Boat nectar?" Carl said, smiling.
"No." I simply remarked, crossing my arms.
"Some of God's tears" Carl said dramatically, lifting his hand towards the sky.
Frustrated, I yelled, "Tell me the truth, Carl!"
"Fine." he said, pausing for a second with an empty stare and a crooked smile.
"It's the lovely elderly couple from 2B." he finally said
Staring at him in utter horror, I yelled, "Carrrrrlllll!"
Crossing his arms, he then said, "Well, they were taking all the crescent rolls."
Turning away from him, I yelled, "I can't believe what I'm hearing!"
Hearing Carl smirk, I then heard him say, "I will not apologize for art."
I looked around the ocean, and noticed there were no other lifeboats except for ours. Turning to Carl, I asked, "Where are the other lifeboats?"
Smiling, he clapped lightly and said, "Woah, you won the prize! I didn't even notice that."
Flaring my nostrils angrily, I asked again, "Where are the other lifeboats, Carl!?"
Glancing at the sky, Carl replied, "Looking at the trajectory of the moon and the sun probably at the bottom of the ocean. I bit lots of holes in them." he smiled crookedly, closing his eyes happily.
Gritting my teeth, I yelled again, "Carrrrrlllll!"
He shrugged, acknowledging me, and then said, "I have a problem.. I have a serious problem."
Rubbing my temples, I said lowly, "You are just.. Terrible today."
"Shh.. Do you hear that?" Carl asked. I looked at him, anger showing in my expression.
"That's the sound of forgiveness." Carl said, smiling.
"That's the sound of people drowning, Carl!" I yelled, taking a stepped toward him and pointing down at the shifting ocean water.
"That is what forgiveness sounds like." Carl said with an innocent smile. "Screaming and then silence."
