Description An interesting view of 11 of the radio telescopes of the Very Large Array looking at the northern sky.

These telescope dishes are "linked" electronically and is known as an interferometer that allows a "virtual" radio telescope to act as if it is miles across.

These telecopes are moveable into different configurations and several of the mount pylon structures not currently in use can be seen in this view.

Actually, these telecopes are very sensitive recivers, not transmitters.

It was a really neat place to visit!

I got it, so they could pass the call along! XD!
I'm sure. A better movie reference would have been the Movie; "Contact" 1997 w Jodie Foster.

Why not, next Sunday I will photo the USS Iowa being tugged under the San Francisco Bay Bridge, and, the Golden Gate, from high atop Marine Park Amphitheater at Ghiradelli Square! I could maybe do it afterwards.

I hope it works out for you. I have been in the San Fran area a few times and the marine layer was pretty heavy in the AM. Good shooting!
