Description
Here's a revamp of a previous character I did. I totally changed his clothing (allthough I'm keeping the old outfit) and adjusted him a little stylewise. And his name is still not Deadman.

You really have a talent for colour, you should do a full tutorial cause I really want to steal your skills!
As for a name, how about Dead Fred? Just a thought (quite a stupid one at that)

Yeah I thought about it. Just because it's so super ordinary, and he's actually supposed to be a normal kid down inside.
But no...

How do you get the clothing-texture?

Crosshatching as well as overlaying a photograph of some random rough texture I found on the net.

By the by - am super sad I'm not going to be at San Diego Comic Con - that book is going to be phenomenal!
I told Dave that if you have any left over for online sales, I'm all about it!

I'm sad I can't go to SDCC as well. Also, if the book sells well and there's still a high demand, then we might take the money we made and put it into a second printing. WHO KNOWS!

~wishes for the best~
I feel bad in not being more active on SS. All my art has been focused on my site and I so wish I had more time in the day to focus on the jams. (been missing out on some seriously awesome ones).
Aye me. Well mister, I'm proud of you guys for churning out what you have!
By the by, what IS his name?

He doesn't have a name yet, haha. I keep trying to think of decent names that don't sound ordinary, but not totally cliche or retarded either. It'll come eventually.

Practice, dude. Just fooling around with Photoshop until you know what to do with the tools, and then practice practice practice.

so u never study in an art place or something like it???
your knowledge about colors and shades is so fucking amazing
do u use a wacom tablet???
i think I would need one if I want to paint like u..

FabianMonk In reply to tsunnamii [2006-07-11 14:26:28 +0000 UTC]
No, I never studied anything professionally. That's all still to come.
And yeah, you'd probably need a wacom to paint comfortably. It's possible with a mouse (allthough you won't have things such as pressure sensitivity), but it's a lot more tedious. At least to me.

nice man. i really liked the costume and vivid colours of the previous version but this one's got a much moodier, twisted vibe. lovin it. brilliantly painted.
