Description
My health is slowly improving-this rather simple ink drawing took me almost 2.5 weeks when it should have taken a few days at most. Ah well. Little-by-little.Pen and Ink, 11"x14" (about 28 cm by 35 cm), and around 30 hours. No references--this one's completely out of my little noggin. I was going to add eyes, but I rather liked the glowing effect as it stands.
Enjoy!

Wow, at first I thought there`re three animals And this "glowing efect" is way better than normal eyes (in this particular art).

Thank you! I'm glad you like the glowing effect, and I'm quite pleased with the notion that you thought the central figure another animal.

It started to get old after a couple hours of it, but it gave me time to think, which is always good.

My only thought in a situation like that is "when will I be done drawing these lines". It's enough to make one switch to zip tone.

This is something I could see in an H. Rider Haggard book, the imagery fits the stories he would create.
I agree that the glowing eyes is a nice tough, and it helps give the viewer the feeling that the light is coming from behind the figures, which makes them appear more ominous than if they had just had dark eyes.

Thank you! I'm embarrassed that I had to look up "H. Rider Haggard," but when I saw the name "Allan Quatermain" attached to the Google entry, I knew who you were talking about. It's been a while since I read his adventures, and even then it was a young reader's condensed story version of King Solomon's Mines. Maybe I'm due...

Haggard is one of my favorite authors. I've read King Solomon's Mines, She, Ayesha, Morning Star, and now Benita. And am in the process of collecting more of his books!
The language in them makes me feel smarter when I read it.

Hello, dear sir, I see you are well,
So let us frolic together like deers in a dell!
We'll frolic here.
We'll frolic there.
We'll frolic down the roads to everywhere!
Until at least we frolic to the lake,
And out of exhaustion fall down,
And eat cake!
(Technically, that's more akin to the Scarlet Pimpernel than Dr. Seuss. )

Scarlet Pimpernel would at least throw in a profane word or two to shock the ladies, while Dr. Seuss would make one up that was even worse, like "Oh, Sneetch!" or "You Ooblecking Zinniga-Zanniga!"

Thanks, Carole. It's nice to be feeling better.

Really impressive work with the lines/inks and how it's used to shade and give texture to stuff.
