Okay, I'm going back now to continue Maladyne's story arc in Web of Betrayal.

***********************************************
“Nys Monad Tas,” Maladyne whispers, arms raised outward in open gesture to address her personal mirror. The words, her own arcane key to access the mirror’s array of powerful functions, was a secret shared only in part with Anjerome Villios before she had left on her quest. Now, gazing at the vista locked within the glass surface, she wonders if the act had been wrong either in the partial sharing or the partial withholding, or perhaps both.
The great, glass eye shows a frozen storm of clouds and spheres, a pattern of contrast and energy that suggests meaning from behind a curtain of obscurity. It is the mortal view glimpsed only by a few of the place called by many “Hereother.” The ultimate destination and goal for the Lady’s countless devoted followers, the scene is without detail and mostly formless, unchanging within the viewer’s concentrated stare, yet shifting from view to view, and from viewer to viewer. It is a sight Maladyne saw many times in her natural life, studying and seeking beyond the glass surface for a truth that she now knows ultimately lay within herself--a truth that she set aside in order to pursue something completely unattainable but still within the reach of hope.
Such hope can well turn to poison when transformed into the Harbinger’s resolve she thinks, knowing that such hope is yet within her heart as shown within the merged murals. But now the hope shares space with other elements previously denied and set aside. Moved now by the union of those extra motives, Maladyne wills the vista of the Hereother from the glass. By the time the walking corpse of Anjerome Villios shuffles up behind her, Maladyne stands before a cold, round face that is blank of feature, no more than smooth, polished glass and the physical reflection it holds.
***********************************************
This page begins Maladyne's second-to-last scene in the chapter. I intended it to be part of the last scene, and it can be, but I'm breaking it up here into Scenes X and Z. The idea is that some of Elina's kinky audience with the Hellbinder and Ordiel will be going on for part of this, so the publication will hop back and forth between her and Maladyne. I don't know quite how it will fit together yet, so breaking it up can make fitting it together easier later on.
As always, Maladyne was drawn using the wonderful reference material provided by minokura . Thanks!
I hope people are weathering the current situation well, and that those who are suffering can get the help they need. Again, I'd like to encourage everyone to be a bit more understanding and tolerant than ever, and I mean myself as well, in viewpoints and communications.
Enjoy!
Note: Web of Betrayal and Demon's Due are a work of fantasy and fiction. The artist/creator in no way condones real mistreatment of this kind toward any woman or man, by living person, gremlin, plant, assassin, ratman, viscous fluid, programmed device, animated home furnishings, or otherworldly spiritual beings. Furthermore, the artist opposes the marginalizing and restriction of women in general by any institution, political and/or religious, including those which have individual women amongst their membership touting/promoting their own happiness within that institution as evidence that ALL women should feel the same way. This includes the religion I was raised in and which I have utterly discarded from my life over this and other issues.

No, I'm American. I tried being Welsh a few years back, but found I couldn't pronounce the place names. Seriously, "Cwmythwyth?"

Had to look that one up and found the Charlotte Church performance. It's been a while since I listened to her, and it was a nice change of pace from the stuff I've been listening to lately. Thanks!

If you can handle the excess testosterone, try the Zulu version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQrE8v…
That the first exposure to the song I can remember. I understand how having a sweet little girl sing the ditty might be preferable. I assume they gave her a sword, ax, or spear to wave around during the performance.

And on the other side of the mirror, she’s surprised by a gathered crowd waiting who erupt in applause.

Consider yourself so told.
But it's a fun idea for a blooper, with Gus Gremlin popping in on screen to respond...

Let me just step back and see how it looks...dammit! It's not dead-center. I'll just scootch it over a little bit..."
