Okay, I'm going back now to continue Maladyne's story arc in Web of Betrayal.

“Secrets,” Maladyne says aloud, diverting the thought from the mirror for the time being. “Every great house has them.” She turns her head slightly toward Anjerome’s remains without moving her eyes from the mirror. “Even yours, Beloved. Perhaps such is proper, given our human nature; what is sacred to some is merely secret to others.”

She gazes more deeply into the mirror and the reflection of her face in the room’s ambient light. “But my house had far too many secrets for them all to be truly sacred, and yet that is what I was led to believe. What everyone was led to believe.”

Some secrets of House Martilis were concealed far, far away from where anyone but she might access them. Other secrets were placed openly before the eyes of all but recognizable only by those aware of their significance. Gazing at her reflection, Maladyne considers one of the most sensational secrets of the latter kind visible within it.

This page continues Maladyne's second-to-last scene in the chapter. I intended it to be part of the last scene, and it can be, but I'm breaking it up here into Scenes X and Z. The idea is that some of Elina's kinky audience with the Hellbinder and Ordiel will be going on for part of this, so the publication will hop back and forth between her and Maladyne. I don't know quite how it will fit together yet, so breaking it up can make fitting it together easier later on.

I hope people are weathering the current situation well, and that those who are suffering can get the help they need. Again, I'd like to encourage everyone to be a bit more understanding and tolerant than ever, and I mean myself as well, in viewpoints and communications.
