Okay, I'm going back now to continue Maladyne's story arc in Web of Betrayal.

“I have nothing to fear here, Beloved,” Maladyne says over her shoulder, not taking her eyes from the mirror. “But even in your pitiable state, your watchful presence gives me confidence. Abide with me, for I fear that my ancestors may not approve of my inquiries. I may need your undying strength.”

“Yesss,” the corpse breathes.

Maladyne presses her palm against the mirror’s cold surface, memories of having done so numerous times in her life coming back to her in the chilling flash on her skin. But the fires in her mind burn brighter, lighting up the darkness and piercing the reflection to see beyond this shadow court and into the reality of her family manse, leagues away. The journey is swift as thought and almost too fast for the eye to follow. The columns, flagstones, and darkness that surround her are stripped away like dry autumn leaves in the wind, followed by Anjerome’s walking corpse, until only Maladyne herself remains in the mirror’s face.

This page continues Maladyne's second-to-last scene in the chapter. I'll post another image later tonight or early tomorrow morning. I'm quite a bit ahead now.

I hope people are weathering the current situation well, and that those who are suffering can get the help they need. Again, I'd like to encourage everyone to be a bit more understanding and tolerant than ever, and I mean myself as well, in viewpoints and communications.
