Extraordinary picture mate. First time I've seen that (I'm withholding judgement
on whether it's a real effect or photoshop effect as one guy suggested).
Anyway, great pic!.

yeah. a great longexposure. you were pretty fast to do all these kind of stuff around the trees. how long did you have time? i have similar shots taken. have a look at my gallery for that. but i have always a maximum of 30 secs due to my cam!!

lol, I have this one too what is totally cool is that I linked to these from someone else's page and finally found out who originally did these! I love it! so original and creative. Definitely has somewhat of an eerie effect! simply superb!

Call be lazy and blasphemious, but i would guess this is a fake. The ignition of the light source on the ground does not fit, especially in the part between the tree in the front and the four standing beyond. It looks like drawn on the image. May be nobody suspects this because everybody thinks someone with his genius and his photography skills would do make a fake. But in consideration of the description "Long exposure, although I wish I were that fast" and the smiley I would say this is a joke.

Love your work. If you have time could you tell me how you create such an effect as it is a very exciting photo. Thanks

Very interesting

My guess would be that you put some sort of luminous object at the end of some string and pulled it backed towards you.. but.. i'm probably wrong

hehe, nobody knows how you did this, but I doooooooo, we used to do long exposure shots in my photography class in high school, I've actually recently been thinking of how much I want to get a camera and do some shots like this again. I'm lovin how you captured the light dancing on the ground too, this is a fucking FABULOUS idea and shot, allow me to add one on to the favorites tally...

ollyver [2002-04-16 21:49:58 +0000 UTC]

its just amazing.. lol

im experimentin with slow shutter speeds atm. but...

seriously.. how did you get the light source to go around all the tree, objects atc and NOT have your hand lighting up (if thats what you did - ran around with some kind of light in your hand).

once again : fantastic...

I love slow exposures! What did you use as the light source and how did you make it wrap around the bridge railing?!? Excellent shot. This pic and you, my friend, are going into my favorites and deviantWatch. (Respectively)

I haven't read all the comments yet, but once again, I'm just giving my opinion to anyone else who might read this on how you did this peice. Put the camera on a tripod or some solid surface and ran through the trees and across the bridge holding a...glowstick or lightbulb? Not sure there. It's obvious (or so I think) that you did this yourself because where the light swirls around the handrail on the bridge, it's apparent that the motion stopped in order for you to switch the light source from one hand to the other. My only two questions are: where did you take this photograph and how were you able to exclude your actual body from the image?

Please answer these questions if you don't mind.

Thanks.

That's mad phat, like an over-sized Bambi. I like it But lemme guess! I dunno if anyone did yet, cuz I scrolled down quickly....but, put your camera on a tripod, set up a rope with a light source on the end and put it through a course, used the bulb setting, and had someone pull the rope through the course? at least, that's how I'd try it...
