Yes. Read it, as it is awesome. Atomic Robo and the Fighting Scientists of Tesladyne is the first TPB. They talk about solar death rays in it. I think, mayhaps, you will like it.

Very beautiful design with great description of the mechanics and information of the machine itself ^^ It looks so...elegant and light. Especially those wings give a nice touch. I would actually like to own a plane like that

It would! But, you know, "several" can be just about any number! And, when you're fast, you can go far in a short time.
That said, that's not the vehicle he used as a courier, he had the one seen in the comic.
