So this is a picture that I'll never finish. It started off well enough, but I found that I had messed up in the positioning on the paper. The hair would fall outside of the range of the paper. Added to that, the nose was wrong and I wasn't too happy with the lips. Will I try to draw this again? Probably, but i thought I would submit this one as it is.Related content

I quite like what you have done so far. We all can be too self critical, but if you wish to do it over then I would recommend waiting and coming back to it fresh after working on some other pieces. That way you can have a clear perspective. At least, that's what I would recommend.

The thing is, David; I know I could continue and just get the hair wrong and it would be a mediocre drawing; otherwise, I could just start again, put the eyes in the right place and get the hair right too...it will still be a mediocre drawing, but it would be a better drawing....so I'm just going to take a break, then try it again.

The main thing is that I drew it on the wrong bit of the paper - there wouldn't be enough room for her hair.

It does not give that feeling, of course, thinking about straight hair and maybe you wanted to make a big mane.

The top of her head would have gone off, and the side as well, when I draw it again, then maybe you will see

The paper merely is the interface between your vision and the physical world - it doesn't need to capture everything.

Thanks for the comment, James - I just feel as if I would have gotten frustrated with it when I don't manage to get the drawing I want out of it. All I have to do is have another try though!
