Wow, look I understand this is a fantasy horse, but that is some FUNKY anatomy. Like give any reason you want for those proportions, but you really need to take a look at how a horse is put together on the muscular and skeletal level. Hereβs a good pic I found showing the muscular anatomy of a horse [link]

Haha, okay, I know this was last year, but i want to apologize for my response at that time. You were completely right-- this anatomy is 100% pooP!

Really? It's a style, she can do whatever she wants with it. I personally think that art should be changed to make things more... INTERESTING.

Anatomy Troll alert *sounds the alarm*
I agree it is funky anatomy. Sidney, you should be ashamed of yourself. Releasing this shameful monstrosity upon dA. Shame! *insert Ommish sign for shame here*
Dear Troll. In case you didn't notice, that was all a good dose of Irish sarcasm.
Go bother some people that need the 'help'. Because this girl here does not need it Quote UnQuote "this is MY style, I can do what I like withit. I've been riding horses for 13 years, I konw how they work.
Besides, what would the art world be like if everybody drew horses EXACTLY the way they looked like?"

Sarcasm? Really? Irish sarcasm no less. And yes, just because I'm not showering praise and instead am offering honest criticism I'm a troll. Anatomy is HUGELY important when drawing ANY living creature, it takes a lot of practice and there is zero shame in needing to improve on it.

Oh no I've been called out for being Irish! I don't think you realize that I really don't care what you think of me or my sarcasm. What I'm saying is that her anatomy is pretty spot on for her drawing style. What about the world famous miss Jessica Rabbit? Are you saying that her creator, one of the MOST FAMOUS artists in the world, is wrong because he drew her with an impossibly tiny waist?
Please.

I... No I don't think I could explain sarcasm to you even with diagrams.

*sigh* I dont mean to sound rude, but this is MY style, I can do what I like withit. I've been riding horses for 13 years, I konw how they work.

BORRING.
Here are my views on the subject: [link]
Again, sorry for being rude, but i've had a very crappy week.

Oh, right. You're one of those "but it's my styllleeee bawwwwww". Look I don't care if you've been riding horses for fifty years, it doesn't mean you can draw them. I've owned a face all my life, but be damned if I can draw one (although I'm slowly getting there). A style is something you develop over time, you become familiar with the rules, and then you twist and break them. You clearly, and I'm sorry for sounding rude, do not know the rules. This isn't simply exaggerated or changed, this is literally broken. Muscles don't work like that. Horses legs do not work like that. Necks do not work like that. Nothing on this makes any sense. Even fantasy creatures, to be effective and convincing, have to follow basic anatomical rules. Simply crying "it's my style" doesn't mean you're being experimental, interesting or different, it's just a lame excuse to avoid admitting that you have arias you need to improve on.
Now, you don't have to take my advice, no one's forcing you, but honestly you will be allot more satisfied with your work if you swallow your pride and get down to practice. That or you could just keep wallowing in this fine little circlejerk of followers you have here.

Uhhhh okay
You might have taken a look at my newer art before you continued this conversation because
I have improved a lot actually.
But on the other hand your statement is completely relevant. For a year ago and other young artists.
And I don;t get the deal with the whole 'it's my style' thing really
It is my style
I can do what I want with it
And I have.
I replied to you a while ago saying sorry that I acted the way I did when I was 16 and I don't deny that I didn't expect this sort of a response.
Sooo
I guess me and my 1,963 'criclejerk' followers will leave
thank you for your concernΒ
bye
