"Ginny could hear her family laughing on the living room, talking about the upcoming marriage of Ron and Hermione, but instead of joining them she decided to go up the stairs with two mugs of tea, looking for the only guest that wasn't welcome on their house in many decades. She found him sitting on the stairs next to her room, still dressed with the clothes he had attended his trial at Ministry and reading a book.

"Not feeling like joining the fun?" Ginny asked.

"I suppose my presence would ruin the good mood." Tom answered closing the book and putting it down. Ginny looked at him and smiled, she kind of felt bad for him, but his situation couldn't be helped. She climbed the steps between them at sat between his legs against the opposite wall and gave him one of the mugs.
