after seeing Rebecca Sugar's most recent twitter post, the only thing I could think of to draw was marceline floating around in different poses.it was a nice little exercise, I mean people have said I need practice drawing the form and flow of volumes of hair or whatever.
Pen sketching was also a nice little break from primarily digital art I guess

i know you use sai to draw but what settings/tools do you use?

this was drawn with pen and ink and then scanned with the greyscale setting.
when I use SAI I don't always use the same tools.. I switch it up depending on the style and mood of the piece.

Rebecca's sketches inspire me, man...makes me feel a bit better about being in a "Drawing" class instead of "2D Design."

I don't think you can make jeans out of hair. The texture of the clothing is represented by lines too similar to that representing the hair, thus making it look like it's all the same 'stuff'.
Problem I have too. You end up having to build up a set of different kinds of marks to represent different stuff, sometimes for texture but most because they make shadows and reflect light in different ways.
But Rebecca's sketches, man, they're beautiful little things. They can teach a lot about how to communicate with a bare minimum of lines (A pretty good discipline to have).
