Somehow, I think the best pieces I make are always the first pieces I make - with Manga Studio, with Artweaver... and now with openCanvas. I downloaded the trial two days ago, and this is the first thing I managed to produce with it.
Mostly because of laziness, the tree doesn't have any leaves, and there seem to be too many roots for just that one plant, but I like how I got it looking with only two colours. The large crystal is really just more rock in a strange colour, but I'm happy with the smaller crystal - the broken one - and especially with the shards on the ground.

This sort of reminds me of the Playstation strategy game Kartia, and the image of a World Tree in the demo movie growing on a crystal. I suppose that's where the idea came from.
