I know Milkstar is getting tons of hate currently, but keep in mind he's doing this to try to save his Clan. It looks to him that his only two options are A: save 3/4ths of LeafClan by willingly banishing the rest, or B: do nothing about all the rule breakers and mischief and let them all perish. He's not kicking out apprentices in cold blood- he's doing it out of fear, paranoia, and with LeafClan as a whole's best interest in mind. I highly doubt Milkyboy kicked out my Mouseyboy because he hated him, wanted to, or felt good about it. I'd say he was torn. Mousenose was his best friend, and Milkstar didn't choose him to be his deputy in the first place if he distrusted him or hated him. I can guarantee that he's upset that Mousenose "had" to be chased away, and wishes things could be different- but he chose his overall Clan over his best friend in order to, what he sees, as saving them. A few of the people he chose to kick were completely unexpected and uncalled for- such as cats like Larkpaw, Ravensong, and Yellowgaze- but keep in mind that those they saw fit as "troublemakers" were up to a roll of the dice. To explain this in-universe, I'm sure it was Milkstar's cronies who started convincing him they were bad, and was not a conscious decision made/thought of by himself. We do not know Sedgelegs, Russetsoul, and Hawkflame's motives yet, but so far, it appears they're getting some sick pleasure out of this or something- or perhaps, they are more corrupted and have their minds altered more than Milkstar has.

Sorry for the essay on why I still love Milkstar, I just find his story arc very interesting. It makes me sad that the players themselves- not the cats, I don't mind that, there's supposed to be conflict- but actual users who hate his guts and want him to burn and see him as evil as the canon Tigerstar/Brokenstar themselves.
