Since recently I got this line-stabilizer (Lazy Nezumo Pro) – which makes it finally possible for me to make some proper line-art, since I have quite wobbly hands…And I’ve always wondered how Stian (my big white siderian (a big cat)- see more in my gallery) may look in Lion King style, so here is the result. The mountain on the background ( a bit realistic compared to Stian, but that's also drawn that way in TLK) is a real one, of which I can see the summit out of my window – those living in Tromsø may know it.
The Lion-King-style-experiment turned out to be a lighting-experiment as well. I thought to tell a bit of his life through these pictures (represented in the right order). I have found music that fits the scenes or his feelings in combination with the atmosphere on the drawing. Some scores are quite scene-specific and some represent a more general feeling.

Arg you know I love these! If I had to pick a favorite...well my favorite is True Spirit...though 'Rest' is very special because then I kind of can imagine his soul at peace, at rest as the title suggests and with the beautiful soft glow there against the snow...it really gives that peaceful liberated feeling to him. But...my favorite I think would have to be Dark Thoughts. That one to me feels most like Stian.

Lol...first you say True Spirit, then Dark Thoughts?? Uh? *Nintu-face* I don't really know either...I can pick a few favs, also because I know the bg. Though you know what preceeds 'Rest' ...but still I find that one kinda serene as well. Still - in combination with the music I think I go for True Spirit (that one is still leading the poll - with two votes more than Rest), but I also have quite a weakness for that song.

Yes indeed I do know what comes before Rest...but it is the 'rest' part that I like and how you illustrated it there. And I think you made the right choice.

"Dear Dairy, I saw a new Stian artwork by Mystic today...." *first glimpses of picture* Wait, this looks.... is it me or does he look somewhat like Lion King? This cannot be.... *is embarrassed by own childish mind and scrolls down* Oh, it is a Lion King style by design. *is not embarrassed anymore.... or perhaps a little because reasons* Okay, so in Lion King setting Stian looks like.... ummm, he reminds me of Scar.... doesn't really look so much like him, but reminds me big time.... *ponders* What a shock though.
Now let's see all pictures one by one and how colors and lighting works there. *looks up first title and song name and then picture* *song starts playing inside brain* Oooh, this mountain is.... wait, this mountain is REALLY good. Okay, so all white and kinda normal. *looks up second title, song name and picture* So blue.... *immerses in imaginary music* I wish I could draw scenery like that.... *looks up at third title, song and picture* Look at how the moods change, I can feel the story behind unwinding.... *immerses in imaginary music and story even more and TOTALLY forgets he was supposed to analyze the artistic side of experiment* *fourth....* *fifth....* Oh Hell, this is totally powerful. *sixth....* Okay, this is incredibly interesting. *seventh* Interesting, yes yes.... *eight* Epic. Just.... wow.

So.... ahem, I wonder a few things. For one thing, I wonder what a Lazy *something* Pro is and whether I can get one.... Then of course, I wonder.... I know some of the story, but I'm once again ever more curious. Especially that sixth part. Sixth precisely, Fire is about the last thing I'd expect to see anywhere around Stian (or you), so this was unexpected, even though I reality, in theory, why it is there. Makes me even more curious though. (I must have a cat gene somewhere.) And then I also wonder which one to pick.... since you asked. For a moment I was a bit like: "5, no, 8, no, 4, no, 2, no, 3, no, 5...." XD Joking aside, I'm really torn between 8 and 5. Like, 8 is the most epic and powerful one, silent, but powerful because I know its meaning. But 5 has me because.... STORM DAMMIT, nothing compares to the power and rage and majesty of a storm. I'm in love with storms. So I can't decide.

haha yeah since I had to stick to TLK style, I had to look at how the lions were drawn...and I thought I'd better look at Scar and Zira than to Simba or Mufasa. Also, Stian and Scar do have some things in common hehe- what a surprise.
And that mountain - that's the one I spoke about - you're going to see it for real 
And yeah that Lazy tool - lazynezumi.com/ - it's really practical and made drawing lines and also the Northern Lights way easier...as I struggle with very wobbly hands, especially when I draw digitally. My hands seem more steady when I draw traditionally...weird.
But coming back to your question. Fire...yeah definitely not Stian's element, but he has discovered that it's damn effective to set vilages and buildings ablaze. And to fight his enemy he has to turn to methods that are not his first choice. Another one is for example collaboration. Not something he likes, but he has to because he couldn't fight his enemy alone. Though in this drawing it looks like his burning his own territory, which he wouldn't do of course haha. But he's quite creative and willing to do unexpected things to get his aims. Though if he had the choice of triggering an avalance over his enemies, he would have gone for that...
I'm wondering which one you finally would choose as favourite XD I don't really know either...
Anyway the music...do you think I've a bias??....ehh no waaaay....

What a shock indeed. I used to draw them all the time when I was little. I had entire notebooks drawn with lions lions lions (my grandfather went nuts once because I drew his notebook through XD ), in fact I've drawn so many that I might be able to draw one just like them even now after so many years....
Oh.... I can't wait.... quite literally.... I want to experience that last, and yeah I know you have it on your mind.
Hmm I plan to try it indeed, only right now I can't quite get the mood.... But this might help a lot with the comic, and not only. Make it much faster indeed. And it's not weird, digital drawing always turns out more shaky than traditional, I'm not completely sure why. Different surfaces perhaps....
Oh, I see. So not what I was thinking.... But yeah, burning human-made stuff can be very pleasurable, I agree.... Not to mention effective indeed.
Well.... (I think) I chose Strike in the end, although I really hesitated. But you know, lightning storm. Besides, I love the contrast there and in the previous one.

Thanks! Yeah - I had to search a bit for the right balance between keeping Stian typical and yet drawing him in this simple TLK style. Funny how many people can't really choose XD. But anway I think I may do more art-experiments and mroe scenery ect. Will see
