Description
I am amazed that I only have nine (Well, ten, now) of the deviations in my gallery are game fanart....Well, not really, I guess. When I think about it, ~33% of my stuff is Higurashi fanart, and that's all movies/TV, and most of the games I play are either FPS games or really ancient RPGs--Neither of which I draw fanart for (...I tell a lie. I have a bunch of Seiken Densetsu fanart up here, but that's all pretty old). Actually, I kind of wonder what those nine are. Must be Seiken Densetsu and HiguBure stuff.
...Incidentally, up until this morning, I was hearing the line in Manmaru Temaru Uta that goes 「何所へ行く?」「分からん。」「何追う?」「分からん。」("Where are you going?" "I don't know." "What are you chasing?" "I don't know.") as 「何所へ行く?」「分からん。」「何追う?」「魚。」("Where are you going?" "I don't know." "What are you chasing?" "Fish.")
Anyway, I managed to forget, as with most of my pieces, the most basic rule of marker shading (Also, both of her hands are seriously messed up, as is the shape of her face, and I am entirely unsure of just what is going on with her feet)--"Start light, add darks." And my attempt at using the colorless blender backfired, resulting in that ugly splotch down the front of her skirt... Also, the scanner's contrast is set way too high. I should fix that (Then again, I'm almost always using it for pen stuff, for which I need to have the contrast high, so...).
Actually, I think I might give computer shading one last chance. I mean, markers are so expensive (I've spent ~$300 on them so far. I don't have a quarter of the colors I would need if I were to do this regularly), and if I ~Yuuei ends up getting Photoshop, I may be able to use it for free...
Of course, I'd still need a tablet. And I've never been able to stand drawing on the computer (I even stopped vectoring, after the novelty wore off).
Maybe I should just use watercolors... But paints are such a pain to work with
Anyway, in regards to the actual picture... Come on, Marisa. You're a witch. Cut it out with the lace edging and white bows and look a little more sinister, why don't you.
Then again, she is labeled as "normal", and she certainly doesn't act sinister... Maybe "normal" people think that witches wear frilly outfits.
Incidentally, on my last picture, I noted that all of the Touhou characters are male. This statement was erroneous--I looked it up, and there are, in fact, three male characters. One is a turtle, one is mentioned only in passing, and the other shows up only in one of the novels (I have actually seen a chapter of this novel printed off of the internets lying on my father's computer table. I think). None of them are playable, though.
Kirisame Marisa belongs to ZUN.

hey, don't you have any fanart of seiken densetsu 2? O:
the color on her dress worked out really nice!

You know, I don't. Weird.
I think it must be because that one was my least favorite--Combat was kind of clumsy (Of course, I had just come from SD3, and you just can't beat that for the SD-style combat system, so...), and the story felt disjointed.
Then again, I stopped playing it about three quarters of the way through and didn't finish it until eight months later, so maybe that's why it seemed disjointed
Thank you!

whaaaaat, noooooooooh, noooooh! XD Secret of Mana must be thé game that got me interested in games anyway, ahaha. I loved the battle system! The story wasn't that disjointed though, but apparently some details were left out in the translation... 'cause they didn't have enough space in the boxes or something. I'm not sure. I bet it's the gap though, I played it all the way through not too long ago and it didn't seem that confusing (and I never understood the story when I played it before 'cause I didn't speak English... heck, I got stuck when I had to go to that 4-season forest! One of the characters tells you to go to the canon travelcenter, and I had no idea... ahaha)
But anyway, if the SD3 battle system is that much better, that's a real good reason to check it out!
STILL, that's no excuse! I demand SD2 fanart (Even I have it, and I have... no game fanart in my gallery at all!) (with exception of KH but I don't think that actually counts.... xD)

Actually, I did draw some fanart of Popoie a while ago... I just never posted it. Because it was kind of lame.
Maybe I should draw some more
Yes! SD3's battle system is basically the same as SC2's, but much more refined... And also a little slower-paced, which I found rather nice--I had a tendency to suddenly get game over because two people died within the .3-second period it took me to open Purim's spellcasting menu to heal
They also changed the custom-AI settings thing to be a little more usable... And they made it so that you can leave your AI teammates as far behind as you like, so that you don't run into that awful thing where one of them dies while off behind a bush or whatever and you can't reach the exit and you don't have any Angel's Grails (or whatever they were called) to revive them... That happened to me a couple of times, too 8D
...Dang! Now you've got me wanting to replay SD3 again (What would this be? The eighth time?). Too bad I deleted my illegal ROM.
Actually, I played a hacked version which used a smaller font than the official translation, and so was rather more wordy... I guess it must have been due to my hiatus during the late-game period XD

yesyesyes, see it as a good change to get that inspiration going 8D you can feed on my brains for the time being!
aww, slowerpaced? But I like the way it was so fast. CHOP CHOP MAGIC CHOP CHOP MAGIC! ... with exception of the last fight which was MAGICMAGIC CHOP CHOP instead. O:
I don't think I went game over all that much! I think if you just kill all the enemies you encounter, your level is high enough not to die. Maybe during a boss-fight, but its not as if you can run from those. XD
ah yes, that's kind of annoying. not just when they're dead though, when they're still alive the sometimes get stuck too.
(I wish they'd gotten rid of that part where when you use the whip and you leap, that lovely message of "... sees the reaper" DX I always feel bad when my characters die, no need to rub it in!)
GO AHEAD, I doubt you can't find it back. no wait, first make fanart, then play!
hmmmm, maybe the words actually made it complicated?!
(the irony you played an illegal version of SD2, while I actually have the American version of the game. wtf!)

Actually, possibly it's not that it was faster gameplay as that you could attack again immediately after attacking, just with drastically reduced damage, whereas in SD3, you have to wait for a little bit before attacking... Which, for some reason, caused me to think I could run in and spam the attack button, which resulted in my doing hardly any damage to the enemies, when in SD3 I would run in, hit something, run out, etc.
Magic is handled a little differently, too... It takes time to cast spells in SD3, and the character can't do anything else while they cast.
The flipside being that, whenever you cast a spell, the casting time gets a little faster--So that by the end, if you have Carlie in your party, her Heal Light will have a faster casting time than just using an item
...If you're good, though, you can get three people casting spells at once. Which is just rad awesome
Unfortunately, there are only three people who really learn direct offense spells (Angela--It's all she learns, Carlie--Has a few, Hawk--Has them if you make your first class change to Dark) and those three make a pretty wimpy team... They are the three lowest-health characters in the game

ahhh, yeah, that doesn't exactly work. LETS CHARGE FOR 8 LEVELS! HUZZAH!
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure why they don't explain that in the game... And I wonder how I knew I had to hold the button? Usually I'm all for spamming the attack button.
But that's similar to SD2 right? I mean, first you cast that spell and then you have that lovely soundeffect+the elemental appearing, and only then the spell takes effect. Or does it take more time instead?
That's a quite nice effect actually! Rather than just raising the strength of the spell..
ahaha, well, I'm afraid that's just a matter of balancing out the team? Who cares if you can pick the characters yourself, you probably still need one offensive magic, one defensive magic and one random awesome knight or something.

I only figured it out by accident--I then I was like "Ooooooh I get it now!"
You select the spell, and then the character sits there chanting for a little while... And then it takes effect. So it's like there's a delay... Before the delay. Yeah.
Pretty much... Also, there are three main storylines, and it's nice to have the other person who gets whichever one your "main" character has in your party... Which is also good, because the characters with the same stories complement each other well--Duran (Ubertank and elemental weapon effect spells) complements Angela (Physically the weakest character, but with awesome elemental spell damage), Kevin (Even more ubertank than Duran, and with highest physical damage of any player--He has double-strike AND ridiculous attack--but not much magic, also, he transforms into a rad-awesome wolf thingy at night) complements Carlie (Healing, healing, and some more healing... Also light-element or demonic offensive magic, depending on whether you class-change to light or dark) well, and Hawk (Fastest character, double-strike, a wide variety of different kinds of magic depending on how you decide to class-change) complements Lise (Very high damage, works as a tank, stat magic) pretty well... So there you go 8D

I dunno why but this fan art is so fascinating for me, I mean.. your art have a characteristic that is unique... It will be better if you clean it a bit with photoshop.
Oh yea, the shading of the skirt is good! XD
Beside...
I LOVE MARISA!

I sometimes clean stuff up on the computer... But not very often. I'm sort of aiming for the point where I won't have to anymore (Read: "I'm lazy")
Looking at it, though--This picture is really messy. And the face and hands are completely screwed up, among other things... So, hopefully I've gotten a little better since I drew this.
Really? I always feel like my "style" is pretty much a direct copy of whatever I've been reading/watching recently. Hmmm...
Thanks!
Don't we all?

What I meant was not so much that he's stupid (I mean, he's got some pretty cool bullet algorithms going there), but that he can't speak English. I mean, "Girls do their best now Please wait warmly until it is ready. Paradise moon has been broken! This is unprecedented serious affair."?
