This is very helpful! Do you use the Oogoo for making the cast like I think you do? And what brand of Silicone do you use? I'm looking for a good brand for making pawpads, noses and such.

Wow amazing! What would I make the mold out of thought? And is silicone light or heavy? Soft or hard? Sorry I'm so clueless XD

There's another tutorial for the molds in my tutorials folder in my gallery.
The silicone is medium shore, so kind of squishy but not super soft. I think it's close to perfect for noses and pads. It's super cheap and easy to try it though, so nothing will replace experimenting yourself!

Oh wow thank you so much! I just checked out the tutorial Now I'm off to try to get the material and some clay to sculpt a mold! You're very helpful and most fursuit makers won't answer people.

No problem ^^ I try to be helpful, it's how I learned and I feel there's no reason not to.

[link] Do you have any suggestions for mine? It's my first time and I want to go for a cute chibish look. I had commissioned for resin follow mes but i only got two resin eyes and I know follow mes are two halves glued together. Do you know of any other way to make them look follow me? I hope you don't mind me asking questions! You're just a really great fursuit maker

The acrylic following eyes are just one sided. I can't say I have experience with cast resin following eyes though, but the way they do the toony eyes is they set them farther back into the face to help give the illusion of a follow effect. You may be able to use that to your advantage, and there's a ton of tutorials up on LJ's fursuit community that show how to do that. I'd explain it better if I'd done it myself, but I only know what I've read from others' tutorials.

Oh okay thank you so much. The set back thing I've seen works nicely, but I haven't seen a tut on it for resin eyes. I'll have to check around the community some more.

I set mine in about 1/2in, but they have a lot of follow effect just by themselves so I'm not sure how it would work with yours. Experiment with placement, and don't forget that the fur will add 1/2" of bulk too! Pin some shaved fur scraps on around to get an idea of how much it'll change with the fur on.

Oh I will be sure to. I'm waiting for some black anti pill fleece to come in the mail that im going to put around the eye hole as well so I will try that with some fur scraps Someone also told me sealing off my resin eyes with felt was a bad idea and that they will fog up. Is that true? I never heard of it until they mentioned it. I thought that only happened with plastic bowl eyes. In the tuts I watched they used felt.

I don't back mine with anything. I don't see how or why putting anything on the back would make any difference at all though.

I figured it would only fog if it was hollow on the inside of the eye.
