This method requires the use of a tablet, you could try without one, but the result won't be nearly as realistic.Please ignore any spelling/grammar mistakes. I am aware of them, and may fix them at some point.

Hmm...I tried this, but it didn't turn out to well...I'm guessing it's tablet pen, it makes the strokes jagged for some reason. I might have to buy a new one.

Maybe try updating your tablet's driver? I know with wacom you can get updates for them. Try googling the problem, maybe you can find a solution that way.

I've never used gimp, but as long it has the option to recognize pen pressure and all the good stuff from a tablet, then you should be golden

It really is worth it if you draw often, you can get a simple one from wacom that is about $70, I think its called the Wacom Bamboo Pen.
