Description
An idea I've been mulling around for a while. I swear, Watari doesn't get enough love, so I wanted to do a pic that focused on him (But I couldn't help but to draw LOriginally, I was just going to draw Watari, but. . .
That thing in the center is supposed to be a sword of justice, that's why it has the scales and the blindfolded skull like Lady Justice.
I think you'll have to full view this one, I'm not sure.
Death Note = not mine.

I love this--finally somebody draws Watari some fanart! The composition is neat--you show the sides of L and Watari when they're seeing somebody face-to-face and the sides that are them "incognito"--L behind his computer screen, Watari in his coat and hat to hide his identity.
L and Watari must have had sort of a father-son relationship, I figure...
I like the sword of justice! It looks majestic, and the scales/skull are a neat touch, like trivia in a picture.

I've always thought that they had a father-son relationship, but then again, I've always thought that L was Italian, so I can't trust myself.
The sword was my favorite thing to draw, I'm thinking of making it my icon.
Anyway, thanks for the comment!

Italian was a good guess! The creators ended up saying he was one-quarter Japanese, one-quarter English, one-quarter Russian and one-quarter French or Italian, so you were actually (possibly) one-quarter right.
You're welcome, this pic impressed me! Did you color is with Copic markers?

No, I used water color to color this.

Ah! Copic markers can produce a watercolor-like effect, nut when I full-view and look at this again I can see the texture of the watercolor paper, so I don't know how I mistook it for Copic before.
Must be because I have Copics on the brain--I'm trying to practice with them more lately.
Anyway, watercolor's a great medium unto itself--it gives this piece a unique soft look that not many fanart pieces have.
