She stared at him, a beautiful face and a wonderful smile.. They'd been close for a few weeks, talking daily but there was always something off. Then the world began to warp, her eyes adjusted and she saw him.. Rotting, slowly rotting. She held back a scream, it couldn't be happening again. The longer she looked the more real it seemed to be. Behind him phantom handprints in blood soaked through, cracks appeared and the world seemed to shatter. Screaming she tried to wake up and escape what she saw..

Then a soft whisper that seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere at once, " Careful, be careful. If you value yourself run away."

A shimmering figure of a woman bleeding from her wrists and neck stood in front of her.

"Don't trust the mirror." she seemed to emanate at Jen.

Then her eyes readjusted and there he was staring at her with those soft beautiful brown eyes and he looked at her concerned.

"Are you ok?" he said softly.

She found herself moving away.

"I think, I need to go home after all. You know I have an early day tomorrow." she said weakly, as if the stress of the day were getting to her.

"Why not stay the night?" he asked.

"Raincheck?" she said sweetly, her heart trying to race through her throat.

"All right." he said, "You look like you've seen a ghost."

She laughed, and replied, "Wouldn't be the first time."

Carefully she walked back to her car, and the voice whispered into her ear "You're safe for now, but you need to go where he can't find you. He's marked you as his and if you don't get away you'll end up like me."

Inspiration: I was going to bed after writing that poem and I wondered what an image would look like that had that poem as the theme.. Eventually I created 2 such ideas. I hope you like them.
