I really enjoy this musical. I suppose, in the smallest degree, I can relate to its tortured protagonist. Does anyone else besides me think that the moral of Sweeney Todd is more affecting in the movie than the musical?
This was just a fun painting. I learn more each time.

Well, I didn't actually see the movie...but I've heard some things and I think I'd agree with you from what I've heard so far. It sounds like it was extremely well made. Love the attention to shadows and wrinkles.

That's wonderful! Oh, and I agree with you 100%! The movie really was more moral. I think that's why it was less funny. Did you get the way they used red to symbolize evil? The judge wears red, his house is red, Mrs. Lovett's hair is red, and when Sweeney is totally consumed by his vengeance, he is covered in red. Then, red (blood) covers the dead Lucy at the end, and the oven room is very red. I thought that was amazing!

Yes, I did notice how that color is used so vividly (and symbolically) in the movie--it makes it all the more interesting and beautiful to watch. Thanks for the comment and the fav!
