I've begun an ask-blog: Fiddlesticks Answers .Consider this an introduction before the question-answering begins.

I personally follow the headcanon that these two are twin sisters, (thus making Tavi a member of the Apple family), just Octavia did the same thing as Applejack (leaving home to become more sophisticated) except she actually went all the way through with it.

Fiddlesticks from League of Legends... strange that they called this one Fiddlesticks aswell

Mostly because "Fiddlesticks" isn't an actual name. A fiddle stick is actually a violin bow, which is fitting considering Fiddlesticks (the pony) plays a fiddle/violin. Here's how her name was decided.
I assume Fiddlesticks (the LoL character) is named as such mostly because he appears to be a scarecrow, made of sticks. Or does he have any instrument-based attacks?

Well the first time she appeared in the show was as a scarecrow, so it's possible she was named after him because he's a scarecrow and she's playing a fiddle.
