Description
Among the various monster ideas I tossed about in my head, one of my favorite was a "sparklekaiju" that served as a complete and utter mockery of how kaiju creators sometimes pile on excessive amounts of design elements into their monsters at the expense of consistency. The first idea that wormed its way into my artistic thought process was a giant chameleon, which was understandable at the time because there is a chameleon constellation. The original design, then known as Chameleotitan, was obviously intended as a satirical creation. However, I ended up going so totally overboard on the concept itself that I failed to consider his role in the general story. I tried to put him to good use as a tracker of other monsters in some way or another, but sadly, I ended up making him sound like a brash, impolite jackass of a Load who often spouted nothing but toilet humor. Following the closure of my old account, CT was promptly axed, because although I loved his looks, there was literally no way I could fit him in with the theme of my kaijuverse... or so I thought. As it turns out, there actually ARE Ptolemaic constellations that can serve as the inspiration for giant reptile monsters. One of them happened to be the honorary thirteenth zodiac sign, Ophiuchus the Serpent-Bearer. While most people would think of a Humongous Mecha or something that specializes in taking down giant reptiles, I decided to go for a different approach, based on another meaning to the word "Bearer." My Ophiuchus kaiju would not be an anti-serpent device, but rather a serpent itself that "bore" other serpents, i.e. had a few cute little serpent kids.
The reason I bring up the Ophiuchus idea isn't just for the heck of it. After a few more chugs of my train of thought, I realized that the Ophiuchus monster was the very excuse I needed to incorporate Chameleotitan into my kaijuverse. However, chameleons and snakes are not the same thing, so that warranted a DRASTIC redesign on CT's part. The only things even remotely chameleon-ish that made it to the redesigned Ophiuchus kaiju, whom I named Ophiomega because it sounded awesome, are the presence of prehensile tongues and the color-changing abilities. The true inspiration for "Ophy"'s new concept actually came from a completely different reptile altogether: the Lagiacrus from Monster Hunter. While I don't think I can afford or play the game safely without my parents kicking my nads to oblivion, I did manage to watch a few walkthroughs on YouTube, and I loved the design to bits, which isn't surprising since it combines elements of Komodo dragons, crocodiles, and cobras into one deliciously reptilian dose of win. I think it was the hood that made me want to use this guy as a basis for Ophy. Once I thought of the fact that he had a snake's neck, a lizard's body, and a crocodile's tail, it was only natural that I took it from there. While the Discord-esque mishmash of parts may be distinctive in of itself, though, the real kicker is the second mouth on his chest, which opens up to reveal the aforementioned prehensile tongues. It's a pants-browning surprise twist that can be seen as either High Octane Nightmare Fuel or Rule Of Cool, especially once you realize that each tongue has what can only be described as a head of its own.
As far as coloration is concerned, I'll still go overboard, especially because he's still the aquatic/amphibious comic-relief and, now that I've given his behavior some thought, a Cloud Cuckoo Lander with a heaping helping of Keet and an Australian surfer-dude accent on the side. I imagine that to go with this, he'd have a gradient of rainbow for the armor segments, different colors for each of his legs, and a brightly patterned hood with every color in the box like the skin of a tropical fish, in keeping with his in-universe mythical basis, the Aboriginal Rainbow Serpent.

Love every millimetre of it. Looks like what would happen if a Lagiacrus and Buraki ever got an affair XD
You know, looking at the image without reading the description made me think he was a Basilisk. I think a side of that wouldn't hurt, since the Basilisk is called the KIng of Serpents, but do whatever you want.

Buraki and Immogi? Damn, never thought of those making it in, but let's go with that too. Must be the segmented hood or something.
