Description
I finally made a proper kingdom key, and a video tutorial for it (see bottom of description). This time I made some improvements that I learned from making both the Kingdom Key D and the X-blade. I learned to use poplar instead of oak, so there isn't any wood grain showing I also utilized bondo to fill in gaps, scratches, knicks, and such instead of wood putty. I made the teeth separate from the pole this time, which made the pole smoother and rounder, as well as making the teeth easier to make. I used the sorby spiralling tool on the handle and it came out better than on the x-blade. I used a U-fasterner instead of an eye-bolt.
Specs: 38.5" long, 12.5" at widest, 2" at thickest

Here's the video tutorial link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFXbwz… Yes, I finally made one!

Friend linked me to this keyblade and I must say this is....incredible! The only kingdom key I've ever seen even remotely as good was the one that SE has been using for their promotional events. I mean just wow, if I had the money I would drop it in a heartbeat for one of these....took a peek at the rest and your quality is simply stunning.

Thank you! I saw that one too and it looked amazing. I'm planning on eventually making a mold and casting a bunch of kingdom keys for practice and selling them around $300 a piece if enough people want one.

I commented on the tutorial as well, but considering you're making a mold, how much would one of these cost to get?

I changed my mind about the price. I think it'll actually be closer to $300.

*sucks in air, debating* Still too much. I guess I can do without a life-size Kingdom Key. Thanks anyway.

Ah, that's too bad. Maybe when i actually get one cast and painted, you'll change your mind.

$300 is about 3 months I'd have to go without milk or crackers or new games in order to get it...milk and crackers I could survive without, but I only have one game with decent replay value ATM. Maybe after I get SSB4 and Alpha Sapphire I'll reconsider.

Probably around $500. I'm not sure how many i can make because of copyrig issues. I cant mass produce or anything.

and when that time comes, we can truly, finally exist
jk, but i've seriously been looking for a keyblade like this forever, one that actually is a true 3d replica of a keyblade, because all of the other ones i've seen are flat and whatnot. i might buy one if you start selling

Awesome, I have a poll on my profile if you haven't seen it asking which keyblade people would want me to cast. It'd help me if you cast a vote

You're getting way too good at this Nomura will have to start asking you to make the designs

Lol thanks, but I can't design like that unless i try reeeaaally hard. I just replicate. That would be cool if the company asked for a plastic cast of something though

cool! I find that vinyl wall spackle works great for hiding wood grain as well. I am planning on making two kingdom keys, but I am going to make them with 3 layers. the centre will be the overall shape, and the two outer layers will be the outstanding parts.

Nice! I think I may have heard about using that somewhere before. Does it dry quickly?
I'll be watching to see how it turns out! XD

it dries fairly quickly if you do several thin coats with sanding in between. It is cheap and flexible as well, which is good for props made of wood or foam.

haha not yet for this. I'm gonna be practicing some casting this coming year, and i'll be using this as a master pattern for the mold.
