I'm a big fan of Studio Ghibli. Although the whole piece itself may not in any way look anything as spectacular as their work, a hint of unexpected weirdness that you get from Ghibli movies did, in some way, made me place some elements here, like the reading creature under the tree (originally was supposed to be a Barney-like dragon sitting outside the shade), the six-armed fairy (which is not cute at all), and the curiosity in the girl's face (hence the title).
The toilet paper decorated tree, I got from one of those '80s teenage movies.
