I've all but abandoned DA for the past couple of weeks, and for that I'm sorry! I have left my messages to pile up and been utterly hopeless at responding to your kind comments.I've managed to catch up now and from now on I promise to do my best to reply and keep this place maintained! Time permitting of course ;D
I still have a few things I need to comment on >__>
Anyway, here's a little something of one of my favourite characters, Firenze.
I'm working out new and finalised references for the Heartless gang and I was rather fond of this little bust :>
I am still working on my comic, slowly but surely! Come summer I will have the most time to work on it!

GAAAAAHHHH, that makes two of us who feel guilty about abandoning dA! 
But, I think our situations are roughly similar with the lack of time going on, so it must be mutual! 
...though it's kind of a lame excuse for me not giving this all the wordy love I normally would, I do have to get a few things in!
The eyes are amazingly striking! So piercing! Gawd, they stand out so well! And the multiple colors in them gives them a lot of character!
Looooooovely corkscrew of the horns! And the blue lighting! (so pretty on his shoulder, I must say!)
Gmmmmfff, his awesome FACE! With awesome light and awesome shadows and awesomeness!
I really like the tuft of fur down his front! It's just so billowy and fluffy and gorgeous!
Feels like I don't see that many straight-on views from you compared to other stuff! It's really effective! I like the emotion it conveys, too... like your soul is being stared into! It really involves you with the art!
And, the ears have such a beautiful shape to them! The white inside is so pretty with its shading and all!
...either you're getting more creative with your signatures, or I'm just now noticing them!
Now is the sad part when I still have homework to do, but I send my luffles to you!

It felt SO good to draw him, I'm so used to getting feline commissions I barely get a chance to draw one of my favourite species! The hooooorns, I could draw horns all day *A*
Ahh splatting matching colour palettes on my signatures is a bit of an odd habit of mine now xD

Anu, your ungulates are always so gorgeous. I especially love Firenze; he has a beautiful design, and is a prime example that an animal character does not have to have a crazy, unnatural color scheme to be brilliant. I personally think he is quite stunning. I thought his eyes used to be red? I take it you changed the coloration? Whatever reason, I think the fiery golden color is marvelous. His eyes show a lot of depth and emotion.
The coloration of the eyes is also a great contrast to the background color as well as the color you used to highlight him. This picture looks both fiery and icy at the same time - a really great theme. Your signature only adds to this impression. The details in the face and body are wonderful, and the shading really brings it to life. Is Firenze a greater kudu?
Anyways, this is absolutely lovely. How ever do you manage such inspiring images?

Ahh yes, you are correct, his eyes were red, but after revising the Lords' designs, I've chosen to give them all variations of red.....their eyes will all be similar but not the same standard 'blood' red as they were before! Good spotting there! hehe :3
He is a greater Kudu yes! Kudus along with Bongos are possible my most favoured of the deer <3

Ah, I see. That makes a lot of sense, in my opinion, and also makes the character less cliche as well. Although I do personally like red eyes; I think they're actually quite pretty / appealing even if they are a bit overused.
Oh, most excellent. I find kudus absolutely gorgeous. I'm a fan of most ungulates but kudus really are magnificent beasts. C:

I love to see your commissions and art trades, but I always get totally over-excited if you do some more drawings of your own characters. Gosh, he SO looks like a fallen prince! Those amazing horns and his glance and... oh yes, back into the fangirl-mode!
