It's mostly the three exbones that cause lots of problems. They like to gang up on characters, their attacks often stun (specially when ALL THREE attack AT THE SAME TIME, damn you all) and are resistant to ALL elements.
Kvar just casts Lightning when left alone until someone rushes at him (at which he uses his thrice goddamned Lightning Strike) in the first part of the fight, and when his HPs drop after a certain point he adds Spark Wave. As long as the three exbones are dealt with before this happens, you should be good.

Except my Kratos just LOVES to rush at Kvar, thus I have Spark Waves all over the place when I'm still trying to destroy the exbones. I'd bring Colette (like Kratos, she has a technique capable to hit more than one enemy at the same time, useful to get rid of the exbones) for the fight, but her A.I. sucks badly. I never tried to leave Lloyd to the A.I., but I fear he would be a moron and attack Kvar immediately.

I've heard people hating the dragons boss fight that comes way later since it has a similar setting, one main Boss and helper mobs that won't go down that easily, but I always found Kvar more difficult because it's the first time you have to face 4 enemies (moreover, you're short one party member and you MUST bring Lloyd). The A.I. doesn't help either.

yeah those effing stun attacks. I USUALLY try to be someone whose not lloyd so a healer or genis or something.  I tried super hard ro be regal i just cant...the combos are too weird and not timed right and it doesnt flow for me.
I hate kratos' AI so much...he runs up hit hit runs away might cast but if not runs back im like....what the hell kratos! youre supposed to be EXPERIENCED IN MURDER. AND HOW CAN YOU AVENGE THE PERSON YOU LOVE LIKE THIS, THIS IS SADDENING!
so I end up usually letting one party member die then having the other one distract Kvarr  while I as llyod combo as much as I can before i get stunned. (a series of combos and guarding) which i will enevitably die at least 3 times using the other surviving member to revive me with the shit ton of life bottles I have. of course they have to heal themselves as well. but hopefully by the third death i would have at least one dead and fighting will get easier. once its down to just kvarr i revive the other member and just fuck his shit up.
the end of this was so satisfying i cant explain. its on par with killing a fucking demon lord in darksouls alone.
the dragons in the island human ranch? or when saving colette?

Presea is nigh impossible for me to play, she's just too slow. I had to practice Sheena for the Kuchinawa duel fight, but... She's not powerful, at all. Colette deals better damage and I'm not good at using her, damn it.

I've played around in the Tactics section so he would stop doing that, but it doesn't affect Kvar's Boss fight somehow >< There's not much difference between physical attacks and spells when he targets Kvar anyway. The only real solution is always having three more friends playing the game with you.

That really wasn't an option in my last playthrough XD I was aiming for Colette's "Friendship First" and Genis's "I hate gels!" titles, meaning I couldn't let anyone die but couldn't use healing gels as well. I've lost count of how many times I repeated that Boss fight <_>

There was lots of hit and runs on my side (better than Kratos's A.I., since he'd try to run just to get hit by Lightning Strike). I'd target Kvar while he was busy casting Spark Wave on another character's from behind, since it's the easiest way to stun him (actually, the easiest way to stun any character ever. Mithos's harder because he teleports all over the place BEFORE I can stun him). But yes, once it's down only to Kvar you could whack him around with wooden swords and it would still be a cakewalk.

When saving Colette (though the camera spazzes around a little bit too much there for my tastes). The dragons in the Remote Island Human Ranch are difficult only if your party is badly hurt and you're dangerously low on items.

It's Boss fighting time! They even kept those blasted pieces of magitechnology in the OVA too. I couldn't leave them out U_U and I love lightning effects

The OVA made it more epic with one single stab (alright Kratos, you have all the rights to slash him into pieces, but three times was a bit over the top. Just how resistant was Kvar?). And the blood. Can't forget the blood.

Definitely true, although I still have to prefer the game's version of that entire scenario,  just because of how lengthy and in-depth it was.

I mean the colors are very strong and contrast a lot. You aren't afraid of going out of a color scheme.
