Fun fact, in Bram Stokers Dracula vampires weren't harmed by sunlight only weakened so Ruby could be like that version of a vampire

fair enough, I kinda like the vampires as they r in "Rosario+Vampire" they seem to not be weakened by sunlight and stuff like water without a special herb kinda weakens them in an electrical looking effect and basically r op as hell

Well, it sort of depends.
In one comic I´ve read a while ago, vampires were fine as long as they shielded their eyes from sunlight.
And in most cases vampires can choose whether they want to just drink a person´s blood or turn them into a vampire.
I actually have a RWBY OC who may or may not be a vampire. I mean, he´s got bat wings (most people just accept that it´s because he´s a bat faunus), he´s allergic to garlic, is an history expert, possesses extensive combat skill, usually gives vague answers regarding vampirism, and has an extremely high sensitivity to sunlight (he has to wear special contact lenses that block 99.9% of the light).
And when asked about why he doesn´t go up in flames, he usually refers to his aura and how it protects other people from fatal injuries, too.
He never gives any clear answers and just lets people come to their own conclusions.
