I ship these two sooo hard!! Why not shatter their relationship with some good old fashioned betrayal. I was kinda hoping for Starlight to pull a complete U-turn and go right back to her old ways as I really liked her a villain, regretfully it wasn't her that did this and it was Chrysalis instead, still nice to see the Changelings back tho. The staff is there for symbolism, it's to clearly show that Starlight is about to take Trixie's mark, without the staff it would have been difficult for me to portray what was happening without Starlight just holding the mark.
