Description
This is for an Rp I did the other day in #The-Hidden-Key was to lazy to open gimp so I decided to draw it in ms paint

Walio padded quietly out of camp beside his tribe mate, scenting the air. He ws glad to be patroling with Badiri, as he was an old friend and easy to talk to.
Badiri felt the earth beneith his paws grow dry as he and his friend reached the territory beyond their camp, the air smelt freash and clean and yet the hot, dry air was almost painfull beneith Badiris pelt. "So." he spoke, (as he often did) "Do you think that the weather is going to be nicer soon? I dont think I can take much more of this dryness!" He said sarcasicly.
Walio chuckled a bit. "I hope so...I'm sick of the heat." He said as they walked, licking his dry and cracked paw pads. "Especially doing outside patrols. And the way out territory is with no trees..." He said, his voice trailing off. He scented the air for signs of anything out of the ordinary.
Badiri sighed slighly as he did the same. Though he was yet to scent anything as the dry air filled his noes. "Perhaps if we are lcuky there will be rain by next moon" he said as he looked at his friend.
Walio nodded in agreement. "I really hope so." He said. "I've been able to keept semi cool by wading in the water when I patrol." He said, panting slightly. "Of courseI'm out here all day usually. Get up early and come home at night."
That sounds like a good idea," Badiri replied "perhaps we could go to the lake just over there and cool off?" he finished as he nodded in the direction of the lake, though theur territory was mostly barren they had been luckly to have a middle size lake located near their camp. Badiri had often visited it durring this kind of heat. Though the Deep cut was located near it and the thought of falling into it had often frightend him.
Walio grinned and nodded. "Sounds good." He said, heading in that direction, thens stopped. He smirked at Badiri, giving him a small nudge. "Race you?" He purred, glowing playfully.
Badiri smirked back, replying useing his gift by speaking into his friend's mind "Why not?" as he began to sprint in the direction of the water.
Walio rolled his eyes, smirking, and darted towards the lake. He had always been very fast, even for a cheetah, and raced slightly ahead of him. He took longs strides, determined to win.
His dry paws cause dust to rush up behind him as Badiri ran, pulling up and running at Walio's side though not passing him as the ground raked his paws. He could now see the lake just ahead of them, the hot sun reflecting its beauty from the surface. He sped up, eager to feel the cool water as it lapped at his paws.
Walio put on another burst of speed, breathing heavily and didn't hesitate to plunge into the water. His head bobbed above it, and he grinned back at Badiri.
Badiri stopped, panting as his paws reached the water, after amoment of catching his breath he leapped into the water, landing playfuly on his friends head, forcing him underneith as well. Though Badiri quickly swam away from his friend as he rose to the surface for air, the water was warm, but no where near as hot as the air above.
Walio bobbed back up, glaring at him but laughing. "How mature of you." He laughed, splashing him.
"pah!" Badiri scoffed, his vibrent greem blue eyes gleaming "Im nothing but mature!" He finished as a laugh escaped his mouth, causeing him to bob under water, quickly returning to the surface choughing uncontrolably but while still laughing.
Walio smirked at him. "Really? you think you're mature?" He laughing, cuffing his ears. His fur was slicked down, dripping with water.
Badiri replied through his friends mind as he continued to cough causeing his markings to glow "I dont think so, I know so." then once he finished coughing he slipping under the water and began to swim back to shore as he continued "Best we keep patrolling, for all we know another tribe cat is in our territory as we goof off.."
walio nodded, reluctantly getting out. 'I suppose you're right." He said, not bothering to shake off his fur. "And would you please stop speaking in my head? It's creepy..." He laughed, flicking him with his tail lightly.
Badiri laughed as he looked at his friend and replied though his gift again just to bug him "Why? its not like i can read your mind." he stopped as he began to walk towards the Tribe of crowded water's border. "Its fun creeping youout and it makes it so any tresspassers wont here me, they'll just assume your craze when they hear you talking to yourself! so its a double hitter!"
Walio rolled his eyes, flciking his ears. "Oh Shut up would you? No cheetahs ever tresspass. You're just doing it to bug me." He chuckled. "And it's not fair! my gift can't get you back!" He portested, pretending to whine.
"You beat me in the race" Badiri said out loud as his markings died out "So think of this as your reward. You get to read my mind for a few moments as a prize!" He laughed, though almost shuttering as the padded past the Deep Cut, sighing in releif as they had their backs turned towards it. "Hope we find somthing on the border, that way i can freak them out from behind some bushs or somthing!"
Walio smirked. "If someone is the border, we're not going to scare them. We'll deal with it maturly." He said, then batted his ear. 'If you think you can mage being mature for two mintues."
"pfft" Badiri replied his a jokeing hiss "i thought we already talked about this! Im ALWAYS mature." He then paused and tried to make the cuteist face he could manage "Why dont you trust me?" he said in a sob like tone but only to smirk afterward, un able to hide his laughter even if he could keep it in for the moment.
Walio bust out laughing at his expression. "I almost believed you were innocent for a moment!" He laughed, his tail swishing. "And believ me. You are anything but matture." He said teasingly, nipping at his tail tip.
Badiri laughed, letting loose of his contoll, "Oh come one, you know im only as inoccent as you are, and anyway," he said as he slowed to a stop, sniffing the air "I think i smell another cheetah... Nadia? that you" he said as he turned around, looking for the she-cat.
Walio smirked, rolling his eyes then scented the air. He frowned and looked around slightly. "She must have been here earlier." He concluded.
Badiri nodded turning back, "guess so," He said as he spoted a few feathers left on the ground "She must have, and i bet she caught something," Badiri blushed as his stomach growled loudly "lets make this patroll quick, i havent eaten since dawn."
Walio smirked at his growling stomach. "Why don't we try and catch something?" He suggested. "We both have sucky skills, but combined they might just be borderline sucky!" He said, laughing. "I think I smell a herd of gazelle near by anyways." He said, raising his muzzle to the air.
"And yet another god idea!" Baridi laughed as he also rose his muzzle, checking the breeze for the scent of gazelle, "theres some just over there." he pointed with this tail as he becan to walk towards where the scent came.
Walio nodded and walked towards the scent. He scanned over the herd, trying to pick out which one to go after, when he spotted a younger looking gazelle. "How about that one?" He said, nodding towards it.
"good choice, should be easy to catch!" Baridi replied though his gift as he padded around the herd o they could come at it from two directions "chase it this way and ill grab it" he said watching for his friend to begin the hunt."
Walio glared at him playfully when he used his gift. "Fine. You're lucky I enjoy your company." He laughed softly, and circled around the small gazelle. HE crouched down, nodding a tBaridi to get ready. he then raced froward, chasing the prey towards him.
Baridi quickly leapt out from his cover once the gazell was in reach, he watched it as i reared on its hind legs, unprepared for Baridis sudden appearence. Quickly he leapted forward and sank his teath into the young gazelle forcing it to the ground. " 's'all your Walio!" he said in his mind.
Walio leaped froward, digging his claws into it's haunches, and tore into it's flesh. He clasped his jaws around its neck, and jerked his head, snapping its neck messily. "Got it!" He muffled, mouth still on the gazelle.
Baridi released his grip on the gazelles leg as he stood up strait, licking the blood from his muzzle before speaking "Great catch" He purred "You killed it so you get first bite"
Walio smiled gratefully. "Thank you." He purred, leaning down and taking a good sized bite. His mouth watered as the flavors washed over his tongue. "I feel like I haven't eaten in a moon..." He sighed in satisfaction.
"Same here" Baridi said as he took a bite also, "Its been to long since our last meal." he finished, as he chewed his bite, savoring it, as he knew prey might become more rare with this weather.
Walio nodded, chewing on another chunk of flesh, and swallowing. "Mhm...I'm afraid the herds might start moving on if this heat keeps up." He said worriedly, taking another bite slowly.
Baridi nodded, as he continued to eat, after the young gazell was nearly gone and the parts that were left bigg enough to carry, he sat up "Best we head back to camp now i guess." he sighed "they might want to know wahts become of us."
Walio nodded in agreement. "I suppose so..." He said reluctanlty, standing up and grabbing one of the larger chunks to bring back.
"badiri grabed the last peice that was left as he and his friend began to padd back to the camp, luckly the sun wasnt as bright as before as it was past sunhigh.
Walio walked silenty towards camp, unable to talk with the prey in his mouth.
