Very good job with the lightning, I find it kind of hard to get good shots like that.

Nice work

ahhhh damn you! damn damn damn.. I used to be able to get wicked lightnnig shots, but now a: there has been about 2 good storms for lightning and b: wtf all my shots from them sucked.

awesome shot

lightning is a sweet subject. and this is a sweet location to capture it. i like how the photo has like layers. the upper, most powerful nature layer, then the machine level and the people level, and then the random line of light layer!

ugh, but on the other hand I'm mad at not getting any good lightning shots. next time there's a storm I'm definitely going out to the bay (the water bay, not like the store). last storm I did, but i was too late and the storm had passed. yarrr, you've kicked my ass at lightning photography. lol. awesome shotty.

P.S. I know you want to get a devmeet organized, but trust me, nobody agrees on shit. we've tried. so just come to meet me and ~star-rose-three and ~ blackraven15 this saturday. we'll arrange a meeting place, we plan to infiltrate the one or both of the breweries this time. but if you don't want to do that I might also be going downtown on sunday for a session with a friend, some fashion photography sort of. ok? note me.

Hmm have to be very lucky to catch lightning I guess. Its strange, the cars on the upper level than people. Machines have finally won the battle.

Indeed a lucky shot, after trying 5 times, I was about to give up.
Thanks, buddy

Well done! That's an awesome capture of it too! Don't think I've ever seen a photograph of lightning where it wasn't the main subject. I like your composition here very much.

Looks like it's leaning a bit to the left btw

It was pretty hard, Lisa.
I tried 5 times and was about to give up.
Timing and setup are the keys to capture lightning...hopefully I can capture a better one again
Thanks so much!

I'm not sure people realize how hard it is to capture lightning and actually get a decent shot. I think the focus here is on the lightning and a damn good shot if I might add, alot better than the lightning I caught, which took a zillion shots to try and capture. forget the tripod click like a sob til you get a good one...I say!!! lol Kikkass job Lloyd deserves more favs by a long shot!

You're right, more thunderstorm coming, it's just timing, setup and all...good luck with that

Really nice shot! - Powerful and dynamic.

Howevr two things. The foreground is about a stop over exposed and you would have got better, sharper detail which I think would have added to the image.

And Secondly. Its always imprtant to keep your horizon dead straight in a shot like this. If you take it into photoshop and adjust the crop slightly. I think it would realy add to your shot.

Thanks

1) I used Bulb setting and tried 5 times to capture it.
one way or another it isgoing to be either over or under exposed.
2)Am a lazy guy when it comes to editing in photoshop.
I usually just add border
