Hey Matees - been awhile as always since I posted a large project, but here is one that was meant to be a small project that turned into a large one. I originally wanted this drawing and soundtrack to be out on Halloween but welp, you know how that went, it didn’t happen. So ten days later I hope you’re still in costume because here it is.

I cannot remember precisely how long this took me to make, but I think I started it maybe 3 or 4 days before Halloween, so I think this drawing took me over the course of 13 to 14 days to make. The palette I made had 15 colours, but I only ended up using 14 of them. Animation is frames long and believe me, the fire was tricky to do, and so was the refraction of light on the surrounding objects. The “cabin in the woods” [Lol if you get the reference] was probably the most fun thing to draw in this project. I apologize to pixel purist who hate the I used a form of dither for the stars haha.

At first, I was recording myself as I worked on this, but the footage ended up becoming more than movie maker could load in a reasonable time so I had to scrap it. The song itself, I believe uses 7 instruments, and I actually started working on it a month and a half ago, but came back to it recently. Pretty fun to work on.

One thing I do think I could’ve done better that I was just too lazy to redo at that point, was create a bit more variation in the ground level area where I awkwardly line dithered dirt: the stone texture is probably more appealing.
