Name: Reuben Birch / Ruby
Age: 21
Gender: Bigender male+female (any pronouns, but isn't open about their gender so will primarily use he/him and masculine titles)

Personality: Ruby is awkward, to say the least. He's been sheltered from the outside world for most of his life, causing him to be a bit lost when it comes to social norms. Occasionally he is a bit too curious, asking rather inappropriate questions. While he's not exactly selfish, he is self interested and prefers to put himself and usually his family above others. Typically Ruby is friendly and kind to others, almost always well intentioned, but he can also be a bit insensitive when it comes to certain things.

History: Ruby was born to a rather wealthy banker's family, as the oldest among two other siblings. His mother was sick for most of his childhood, and as a result not usually able to properly take care of him. Though despite her usual abscense, she truly loved her son and did anything she could manage for him. However the love, in all honesty, quickly escalated to outright spoiling of her oldest son. During most of his childhood, Ruby's father was generally pretty abusive to him, both physically and verbally.

Once Ruby turned sixteen, his father passed away and his mother thankfully became more consistently healthy. Wanting to make up for lost time, Ruby's mother kept him incredibly close; she wouldn't even let him out of the house without her. It became rather unhealthy as she would keep him inside at home for months at a time. As a result, Ruby never really had any friends and barely even knew anybody his own age aside from young women his mother brought over for him to meet.

Over the last few months, with the disappearance of his mother during a visit to Circus Blackmere, Ruby has been getting a good amount of travelling done; essentially trying to find what happened to his mother while becoming more... experienced with the world around him. Has entrusted the responsibilities of their estate with his uncle.

Other:
- Has terrible posture and bones, and will often wear a back brace.
- Rather skewed sense of reality, due to psychosis. Feels rather unphased by many of the things in the circus.
- Could possibly be considered superstitious, believes in many different kinds of inhuman creatures; claims to be able to communicate with ghosts and fairies.
