The contrast between the very human-ness of the eye and the texture of the skin which could be either man OR beast creates the perfect illusion to make the imagination fly. The gray scale picture draws all the attention to the focal point of the piece: the enigmatic eye.
Being a fantasy fiction writer, this piece just makes me want to pick up my laptop or the nearest piece of paper and starting scribbling away. It's not the most ORIGINAL piece that I've seen in my line of work...but it IS a great start and shows great technique. It's clean and nicely-done, all in all. Great work!
