Description finally finished... reckon it took about 20 hours altogether. gel pens, A4.
Birthday present for a friend, says 'happy birthday phil' in there, believe it or not... decided to leave the two white circles, but may change my mind and fill them in, can't decided which would look best.
if anyone can come up with a title i like, that would be great - i'm useless with titles.
hope you like

*have now resized it, hope its easier to see the whole thing in full view*

Wow, I love this, it's so intricate! And there's something kind of pure about this kind of thing, where you do it in lessons and don't pay so much attention to what you're drawing. Pure art, in a way.

Very cool doodler.
I always use them to run paint shop filters on them and make patterns or kaleidoscopes.
You should try it, very fun to experiment with it.

yeh that sounds like an interesting thing to try... although I'm not very good with computers so doubt I could achieve anything like you do! but I will give it a go anyway, when I have the time

press alt T-R-K play with the buttons and that's it.

and here's the photosouped version : [link]

wow - I like those ultra-detailed pieces. I make them by myself sometimes. This one is outstanding.
Nice color choice and technique.
Have you known how would it look like before starting doing it? or did you draw without a plan?
+fav
take care

floofty87 In reply to dzikus [2005-03-25 12:57:53 +0000 UTC]

no, no plan before starting. I started this is a psychology lesson, on the back of a sheet we were given to read in class... just started off as a little drawing, then liked how that turned out so decided to make it bigger and bigger, until I thought it would look cool to fill the page. It was done mainly in lessons, whilst listening to the teacher, so minimum thought went into the actual drawing.
Thanks for the comment and fave

I love this! I'd fill in the white areas with light orange. I think I'd call it "birthday celebration" because that's what it is. It is a celebration of color and form.

floofty87 In reply to PatGoltz [2005-03-25 12:23:12 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! I think when I have had enough title suggestions I will use various words from each of them and put them together to form the title. will probably use 'celebration' as I like your idea of it being a celebration of form and colour, thanks

your incredible, well done

oh hey i'd suggest you don't upload such large files, especially with work of this quality, keep them at 72 dpi. Its possible people could print this
artwork out on an A4 paper without any loss of quality and sell them, thats the danger. at 72 dpi it may print out business card size without any moss of quality,
which i find is acceptble if people want to do that, not that they should legally as any artwork anyone makes is instantly copywrite.

love this work, new fav.
