Aww, he's cute! Very realistic too; he actually looks like various real animals in his various parts... Also, this definitely looks great in paint, kind of like an Audubon or other naturalist animal painting. Nicely done. ^_^

Thanks! I kind of just copied photos of the seperate animals rather than try to make up some sort of intermediate anatomy. I'm glad you like the watercolours, they're my favourite traditional medium, although I'm still not as confident with them as I am with digital.

They're a bit hard to get used to, I find they tend to just do things on their own... I find things change as I go along because of diferences in how they come out.

Yes, it is watercolour, they're my favourite traditional medium, as far as I'm aware. XD There may be other things I haven't tried yet, but for now it hold the title. Anyway, the blending kind of happened in a rush, I had to do it all while it was still wet so I ended up having to do most of that really fast, as oposed to the feathers, which took ages. I spent about as much time on the feathers as I did on everything else combined, it think. I enjoyed them too much.

I have a love for watercolour too, it really brings out a nice effect, especially if you experiment with dabbing with tissues and masking tape etc... Although I gotta say my favourite traditional medium is the good old fineliner pen
Well it worked super well! Feathers can be tricky to get right the first time but lots of fun, and you pulled it off, so I think it was time well spent X)

I haven't really tried anything like that with watercolour... I have mixed it with colour pencils but that's the most interesting thing I've done.
