Touch,
the idle way to sympathise
with the girl whose
eyes are red as stoplights,
and whose voice is choked
by the hand, to which belonged the fingers
which were once laced with hers.
And for all of the times
that he called her his saviour,
he never really ran his fingers
through her hair with the intention
of untangling all of her knots
but contrariwise –
to tangle himself up in her locks.
This way, no matter what he drags her through
she’ll never be able to shake him off.

Dig deep down,
through the thin layers of skin,
- which barely provide a cover for her bones
let alone provide any sort of insulation -
to a place where the tiny hairs of her arms
(which are reaching toward the sky)
can no longer be felt.
Don’t be afraid to touch her
bones, as white as snow
and just as dense.
Take these daisy seeds
and plant them there
stand back and watch her grow.

Look at her now
would you ever dare touch such a thing?
With twisting vines
protruding from
twisted veins.
Beautiful blossom
overshadowing
blossoming pain.
One with any knowledge of sentiment
would never even dream
of infatuating such chaos,
yet you insist on carrying
your daisy chainsaw where ever you go
all set to cut her down
whenever she grows.
