Description
This is an entry for a contest Iduna-Haya is hosting where you draw something inspired by a poem! Turning it in very close to the deadline haha but at least I made it. Though it looks pretty different from what I'd originally imagined, I still like how it turned out! It was fun breaking out my colored pencils again to do more then just preliminary blush for watercolors. I just really felt the texture would suit the shimmery effect I wanted the character to have and that I might have an easier time blending the two blues I used. I do need to work on being a little more careful when painting with super dark colors since I ended up kind of erasing some of the colored pencil I used on the character's sheer skirt/sash.I picked this poem: Midnight Dance by Iduna-Haya I've never seen much snow where I live so it always seems so magical and this poem used it so prettily. I'd love try ice skating some days despite my poor balance and practically nonexistent tolerance to cold. What could go wrong?
It was so hard picking between the poems. I was really inspired by a couple of the others as well, so please do check them out and give them some love! Plus you can take a peek at some of the other entries.
