Get ready to rock around the Christmouse tree with the biggest, boldest caroling band of this century—Goodnight Bear Beats!

This is a bit late for Christmas, but I'll just consider it closing off the holiday season and thusly the whole of 2018. This was for the last prompt of the Originally I planned to redraw my really old Miku fanart which I think was the first deviation I had including a human/humanoid character? But then my friend suggested I redraw this for Christmas and I thought it was too perfect to pass up. Transformice is where I started my digital art journey and that marks pretty much my art journey as a whole, so it's fitting to end the year with a little check up on how I draw those mice now (though it's been a whiiile since I've drawn any mice aha).

I remember being really proud of the original back when I made it because it signified a change in style to these cute, chubby, more hamster-like mice and I felt like I was starting to get the hang of things. I intended to try and keep the style of mice more similar but just ended up shifting to the pointed nosies they have and it turned out much differently than I expected, but I kind of like that! It adds additional contrast and it makes me think a bit more about where my art style is leaning now.

I wanted this to have a more interesting look and one of my favorite things I've noticed over the year is framing main focus with the foreground like this so I decided to roll with that along with varying the poses far more. I might've gone a bit ham on the effects but I think they're at least a bit better quality than the original. I also just had to add in an extra mouse to represent my friend, Tareloin since it seems wrong to have a holiday picture without her.

I didn't manage to do all of the prompts for the composition challenge but I'm still really glad I participated, I got a lot of ideas I probably wouldn't have thought of otherwise and still have a few inspired by the themes that I plan to draw in 2019.
