I can't seem to figure out shading on clothes, especially for male characters . Do you have any tutorials you could recommend? I'm starting to get the hang of shape, it's just the placement of shadows I can't seem to grasp.

This is suuuuper old honestly so I can't remember exactly how I did it, but I think I used a low opacity brush on a multiply layer and then built up the shadows. As for placement, you just need to visualize your light source and add shadows accordingly. So if it's from above, the area under the neck and some of the shoulder would be in shadow, and either under the chest or stomach, depending on the weight/sex of the character.
