Aaaah Sonic.. I'll always be a fan of the ORIGINALS (meaning the ones that were on the Sega Genesis/Megadrive). I have to say I've always wanted to re-design him, and still try to hang on to the aesthetics that I admired so much about the originals.Anyhow, this is a thing.. convinced me to post it. ^_^
Drawn entirely in Toon Boom Harmony on a WACOM Cintiq Companion.

I'd have to agree. The originals were the only ones that were worth playing. Btw, AWESOME style. I'd like sonic a lot more if the design was like this.

Yeah me too. That's always bugged me since day-1, and it was one of the first things I changed when I drew him here. That and those goofy Buggs Bunny gloves. There's still a few things I'd change in this one. I'm not 100% sold on it.. I might try again later.. I'm busy toodling with a Tails re-design at the moment.. ^_~

To be completely honest, I've never in my life played a Sonic game (or been a fan of the series but that's obvious after that statement). But I agree with your opinion on the gloves and something on his shoes bother me too but I can't put a finger on it... maybe the soggy socks or the metal thingie on it...

Thanks.. I've always disliked the mono-eye concept. When most of the other characters in the world have 2 eyes, the entire concept of sticking with the melded eyes is silly.
