Description
Whole title: The Sketch Project - Phase Two: Pancake VisionsTo shorten the waiting time on my next deviations, I just browsed my older sketches and drawings once again and found some interesting stuff. This one is the "sequel" to "gentle soldiers from the sky" [link] .
If the title irritates you: I just took the basic "texture" of a selfmade pancake for the background
Works much better than I thought, I think I'll experiment a bit on such stuff. I didn't know that pancakes have such an incredible level of detail... ^^Anyway... If you still don't know what to do: enjoy! (Fullscreen)

I am experimenting on combining both of the two media in the moment. I am much better in doing traditional drawings, but without the digital elements, they always look a bit empty.

I just got a scanner... I've been scanning my hair. Makes for some aawwesome textures.
I like those characters. Alot. You should draw them more.

You can use nearly everything as a texture, that's just so many oppertunities... Crazy, but it definitely works
I tried to draw a "real" picture with the characters, but somehow I wasn't able to catch this special, sketchy look... I've got some characters with a lot of similarities to these two, though. Just take a look at my older deviations (especially the head and the eyes were one of my earlier ideas).
On the sheet of paper with these two guys, there was also a third character, looking very different, but also interesting. I think I'm gonna post him in the next days as the 3rd part of "the sketch project".

I did the two characters in about 10 minutes, when I was at work. Sometimes those fast sketches turn out best
