Description
This one took extremely much time. I started with the bed eating the scarf-guy, but it turned out to be a really complex, finished picture. It could actually give you an impression of what I am working on since weeks. As I already mentioned a few times, I am currently working on 2 pieces, which I wanted to post until the end of january. The problem is: I am stuck in the middle of the process and don't really know how to go on. That's why I created nearly 10 deviations in the meantime.Anyway. I didn't find a typographic image of the "Sick"-slogan in the library, so I had to create one by hand. Hope you like it
There isn't much more to say, so just enjoy! Please give it a full-view, because the details really make that inevitable.

Thanks a lot! I'm totally into traditional art, although I'm used to digital refinement or digital background creation. My technique just takes too much time to do every picture all traditional.

Thank you very much! This one turned out to be one of my most popular pictures. I think it's even the one with the most faves on it
It's always nice to hear if all the hours of shading pay off

The details in this one are simply amazing! I'm usually not a fan of "busy" art, but this one, I could stare at for hours... This is definately a fav

Thank you very much! I worked on this bed and somehow it turned out to be a complete picture. The details were added in several steps. And the shading took hours... Well, I am usually much too lazy to create such detailed pictures, but if I have time and am motivated enough, things like that happen

There is so much detail in that picture, it took me a good 5 minutes of looking at it before I was satisfied with my understanding of it. O_O You are, in a word, amazing.

Mission accomplished
No, thank you so much I really try to prevent the visitor from seeing all the details when looking at the picture the first time. It forces him to full-view and take a closer look.

You bet
Even the sketching took about 2 full hours... I stopped counting time after about 5 hours of shading.
I am already working on a new piece, which will probably take much more time than this one. I don't really know why, but somehow I try to create more complex, big or detailed things whenever a deviation is finished. And I try to finish the deviations in shorter periods of time... It theoretically can't work, but up to know it somehow does

His bed looks a whole lot more interesting than mine.
I kind of like that it's all done in pen. It's different then the rest of your gallery.
And I must say that I like your hand-lettering better than the typing. It just fits better... heh.
And I absolutely and completely love all the details-- particularly the eyes in the wood.
It's all so amazing, it really is, but you must know that by now.
And, I like the people in a jar. I really do.

Someone who really looks at my pictures... oh my gosh
Would you really like a bed like that? I mean, beauty isn't everything
And I somehow doubt it's beautiful...
Thank you so much! Hand-lettering is something that I'm not really used to, but I should definitely use it more often. I created a lot of slogans of my first pictures by hand, but somehow I started using pre-designed letters later on. Of course, it's a sign of laziness, but in fact I think that for some of my pictures - especially the ones with big digital parts to them - they fit a bit better. Maybe a handmade piece would look more unique, but if it differs too much from the background, it's not really worth spending so much time on it. I prefer going over the shading of the real picture once again before I do all this stuff around, because if the essence isn't there, there is nothing to be adorn.
The idea with the people in the jar isn't mine actually. It is taken from a horror movie, but I forgot it's name ^^

I always really look at your pictures.
And I was really close to writing down every single detail I saw until I remembered that you already knew them all because you drew them... yeh.
It's beautiful. In it's own way, you know?
Well, no, I wouldn't like a bed like that in real life, but it's fun to look at.
Welcome
I think it'd fit nicely with a lot of your pictures, even the really digital-ish ones- just to tie in with the characters and stuff.
You do it especially wonderfully, then, if you're not used to it... wow.
That's okay. So long as their in the jar and it's tightly sealed.

They have to breathe, it's not really sealed. They'll come out at night and eat your feet!
Perhaps I'll create a traditional one for the next picture, too But it'll take a while, because it is - as far as I can estimate - my biggest picture up to now. I shaded 2 sheets of paper today and I'm not even close to having finished... Some more sheets to go... And not to forget the digital part... But I want to post it before February, so there's not much time. BACK TO WORK, SOLDIER

Nice joke ^^
I did a lot of more sketching and lining yesterday. Now I have shaded 2 sheets, and lined 4 further sheets. And that's not all - I still need to do the sketching, lining and shading on approximately 4-5 sheets... The next few days are gonna be hell
And then I'll have to add the digital part... I think I'm not going to post it in January - although I planned to do so. The day would have to have 50 hours if I wanted to.
I hope the patience pays off ^^

What about if you deleted the watch for about 2 or 3 days, and if you return it'll be there
I thought it might be nice 2 create something bigger this time, but I am not too sure about it, now that I'm actually in the process... That's WORK. I mean, it really is. It was nearly work creating the traditional part of "The Truth About Your Head", but this time, it's about 6 times more... But I'll finish it. I'd be stupid if I didn't because I've already spent too much time on it

Well, just think about what it will look like when it's all done.
Heh.
I'm scared to attempt anything that's bigger than my computer screen.
You will finish it. You will. If you don't, not only will that be a lot of time down the drain, I'll set an angry mob on you.

But it can be a very hard job... I am working on sheet 7 and 8 in the moment and there seems to be no way finishing before 11 or 12... And I'll have to create a digital background that has a size of some square-meters ^^
Somehow it turns out really complex. I mean, I had a very simple idea in the beginning, but there were just so many thoughts and ideas coming up my mind... I am very excited how it will turn out if I put together all the sheets. But it'll take a while or two.
And I didn't draw the compass, yet That means the picture is everything but finished.

Thank you so much!
I worked on it for about 3 whole days and doing all the shading is very close to the line between artistic and physical work ^^
It's not too hard to do something with such a detail level... You just have to sit down for a long time and do the whole sketching. And if you finally start doing the linework and shading, you can still add more details to it. My whole pictures are based on very simple ideas, which turn into complex projects while polishing them. Just give it a try
Your is very appreciated

Thankies! I added some linework behind it after finishing this version and now the original piece looks really awful ^^ And I tried to do a second one looking better, but it also didn't work, so I had to take this one - which is not really first choice... But anyway, nice to hear you like it

forkfighter In reply to suppimen [2006-01-26 19:35:39 +0000 UTC]
